Hmmm, I'm ok with this if my car is affected. I placed my order in late Oct and says I'm queued for production. Would rather it not be built and not have to pay for it than have it sit in my garage and I just make car payments for tire flatspots.

Tesla owns the nummi plant.

Many of us waited last year. Enjoy it. Makes the reward that much better.

The engine and transmission are made down south, why not the rest of the car. I think it says right on window sticker? "Made in Mexico".

Everyone always forgets the fine print about where GM can (paraphrasing) modify/offer/rescind offers, etc. of any model, option or car line at any time without notice. They chose to make a notice and they chose to do what's best for them. Deal with it or don't.

If you don't like it. Fine. You don't like it. The decision wasn't yours anyway. But nowhere I'm aware of is there a law that says GM has to sell ZL1s or 1LEs in the winter months.

I don't see why they can't just cover the tires somehow.

1) Yep keep numbers down
2) Goodyears are better tires than Michelins - that is why they keep using them
3) None on lots around here - order
4) Worth the wait - FOR SURE

Makes sense. I'm surprised they haven't done this before, since the tires have been on the ZL1 since 2012. Why build, and store cars that have potential for tire damage below 20 degrees?

Thankfully, we have 3 Camaro allocations today and I can order all of them 1LE or ZL1. I plan on doing 2 1LEs and 1 ZL1.

Don't get why they just don't use a different tire.
Because the Goodyear's allow those cars to perform as well as they do. Switching to another tire might let people go to the grocery store in winter...but it wouldn't perform the way they want it to on the track: which is why they are designed and built.

If you recall - we held a lot of cars at Oshawa last year when the temps dropped - that upsets the customer and we understand that.

The reality is that you don't want to drive these cars with the tires we put on 1LE and ZL1 when temps drop......thus the decision.
