Camaro5 NYIAS Interview Series (7/7): Ed Welburn on 2014 Camaro Refresh
Interview 7/7...Feel free to ask any questions - and I may be able to elaborate. It's humbling in a way to talk to Ed Welburn...probably because they've got him tucked away except for these big shows. He's a very down to earth guy to speak with, and obviously has a passion for his work, especially Camaro and Corvette. Ed Welburn – Vice President of Global Design 3/27/13 by J. Bella, Camaro5.com Quote:
Interview 1: Mark Stielow (Chief Engineer of Z/28) Interview 2: John Fitzpatrick (Marketing Manager for Chevrolet Performance Cars) Interview 3: Helen Emsley (Director of Interior Design for Performance Cars) Interview 4: Mary Barra (GM Senior Vice President, Global Product Development) Interview 5: Russ Clark (Director of Marketing, Performance Cars) Interview 6: Tom Peters (Director, Exterior Design) Interview 7: Ed Welburn (Vice President of Global Design) |

I just finished reading all the interviews, I think you covered a lot of the questions people had or were concerned about. All these hate threads on the 2014 Camaros should include a link to all these interviews. More people may learn to appreciate all the hard work and the appreciation all these fine men and women have for the Camaro and their owners.

The attempt was to be a Camaro enthusiast when I spoke to them...not a general auto journalist. That approach yielded slightly different conversations, I think. All were incredibly approachable, and definitely shared an enthusiasm for their work. As with most changes...I think it'll just take a little time for everyone to warm up to the changes. And, I think a lot of people will immediately understand as soon as they see one in person (I'm willing to guarantee that ) Thanks again! Glad to get compliments from a level-headed individual such as yourself. |

Thanks for the compliment. Nobody on here has ever called me a level-headed individual on here before. Some people would probably disagree with you...

It definitely was. Tom, John, and Russ I've spoken with before, and they never disappoint...but the others were new meetings - and I was pleasantly surprised.
