I love this car!! Thanks for the video. It must be real easy to pick apart a car that is not completely developed yet. The last time I listened to the camaro being compared to other cars like the shelbys etc.. I only needed to ask if they compared their car to the Burger Camaro. All went quiete...followed by oh yeah.. The real Camaro people only need to wait and when they get in to their 2010 model of choice, there won't be any competition in their class.

You'll notice the Porsche did not have suspension compression as the Camaro did, as it slowed with its turn signal on to move out of the way. The Driver does look inexperienced, as a concession.

I was a pre-order, early GM client of the highly touted and massively failed Chevrolet SSR, when they had a pre-provehicle proving it would be manufactured within 6 months... 2 years later it rolled off of the assmebly line, I had long since cancelled... GM has a history, which is why I have pre-pro info this time. GM once again is having issues with testing and I believe we are seeing that in these videos.

I know I am a dissenting voice and quite passionate as I am extremely dissappointed in GM and its production vehicles over the past 8 years (ex. GTO). I still have a Chevrolet Bow-Tie Tattoo on my right arm, colored the same as my first 2 Camaros as proof of my former loyalty to GM. So yea, I don't mind pointing out the failures I see coming out of Detroit(Australia) when its appropriate, and no, I will never be on this forum to sing praises when I see massive faults... I get the impression this site is here as a tool of GM, as their " black ops" if you will. Therefore, I will dissent when necessary. Further... ad hominem attacks because someone makes a typo...? Youch...

I am sure I ll be remioved from this site since I can't seem to agree with everyone and praise something I don't believe in... That should be par for the course... I ll be interested to see just how much longer I last here...HAHA

C3

For those who care* ---I traded my Bonneville GXP for my current GT Mustang, because I grew tired of promises from GM that they can't fullfill in reasonable time frames... ala the SSR. It has rattles, but what Ford doesn't?

why are you whining about a car that pretty much no one knows about and dissing it right off the bat????

The New Chevy Camaro Can Make A Soundgasmic Video At The Nürburgring Too

We're on fire baby!

Here's an example of a professional automotive journalist's opinion.

Jalopnik

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

We know you've seen the 2010 Chevy Camaro plenty of times by now, but trust us, you haven't heard it quite like this.

It must be the fanboys at Camaro5's response to Lexus trying to steal the spy video thunder with the LF-A video from earlier.

Because thunder is exactly what the Camaro's big 'merican V8 sounds like as it races around the famed German track.

The video is over six minutes of rumbling goodness, so you might want to let it load a bit before watching.

Ooh, and look, a Pontiac G8 GT was there too.

[Watch the video at: Camaro5]

Nice video, thanks for posting.

I know that Chevy is paying very close attention to the sound. Does anyone know what kind of government limitations that they have on the exhaust note? Do they have to keep things very quiet, or do they have a little bit of flexibility? I know that most of the very deep throated cars on the road are aftermarket, but I'm wondering if this will be about what we can expect with the final version.

Anyone?

its definitely wayyyyyyy too early to be judging the camaro

its a test mule. hand built at that.

when the car actually comes out, thats when you can pass your judgement

but i feel the only real competition is MAYBE the challenger. but if the mid level 'maro gets the LS3, it can blow away both the R/T and SRT-8 (though i've read the SRT-8 has pretty good handling)

and i dunno, this is purely an opinion, but one cannot be a ford fan AND a gm fan. its like being a communist AND a capitalist.

but hey, the camaro has the potential to blow away the competition, and i'm confident that it will. so when summer 09 comes around, all the Mustang drivers better run and hide, and all the Challenger drivers better get used to being in my dust.

oh and lets not even get started on tuners :-P

the challenger srt-8 has a pretty mean snarl to it, so i'm sure the camaro will be just as loud or even louder. but on the same token, i don't think you'll beable to hear a stock camaro from 10 blocks away

Yes, I agree that Dodge does a good job on the Charger and some of their trucks, so I'm hoping that Chevy can do something close.

Thanks.

We're getting a ton of exposure on jalopnik as the video has CAMARO5.COM across the top. Apparantly, we're all fanboys too.

I kinda resent that remark.

It's just that I don't test them I just design em! The interior looked almost perfect to me... it looked all done even though it was all pre-production parts. It was like a final appearance model.

However, I didn't like the rake of the windshield...that is a pain sometimes...especially glare. Anyway, could you clarify what's in bold?
I think it's fantastic. I'd compare it to a larger AudiTT interior. High door with small windows but I think it's easy to see out because the windows are in the right place.

Yeah it made me more of an interior fan, as someone who normally doesn't care about them at all. It had all the final lights and looked good. Yeah you might compare it a little to an H3 with the small windows.

Yeah I think there's plenty of room for tall people which is amazing considering how close it is to the showcar with had NO room at all. It's no cramped Solstice inside for sure. Everyone loved it and we're VERY critical of our own shortcomings especially in the interior dept. The only glaring flaw is right between the speedo and the tach but it's not that bad. Maybe there's even time to fix it but I don't think so,

You mean that little space above the DIC screen? What if you put a real subtle LED Chevy bowtie in there? Or the word "CAMARO"...
