For me personally even though I'm married and all it's like hmm I'll be 57
when I buy this car. Do I want to row the gears when I'm in my sixties,
I mean it's been since the early 80's that I drove a stick. When my wife and I test drove an SS manual earlier in the year, I stalled out several
times and shifter gears from second to third was difficult. I read on the forums that the manual at times was having it's problems. Hopefully the ZL1 will be easier to shift, I mean after twenty to thirty
minutes of shifting I was getting use to it. But the shear power of the SS
and launching it from the get go after driving honda's for 20 years is like
OMG. I can just imagine what it's going to be like with the ZL1.

My brother who is five years younger then me is drving a 2005 mustang GT and made a comment which kinda surprised me. He said the
only thing I regret doing at the time I bought this car was not buying an
automatic instead of a manual. He said intially the manual was alot of fun,
but the thrill wore off pretty quickly with the kind of traffic we have around here, and using the clutch has become more work then fun.

As far as my wife she has no desire to drive this car, but is very grateful
that the passenger side seat will be adjustable with the 2012 models. When we test drove the SS thats the one thing she complained about
which was she could not see over the hood. So now that this has been taken care of, everything is good in the world, THANKYOU GM!

My long in the tooth daily driver of almost 10 years is a manual transmission. I live in the city and definitely know what stop and go traffic is like and it doesn't bother me one bit (except that traffic sucks regardless of what transmission you drive). There is not a single bit of doubt that I want a 6 speed ZL1.

I forgot who mentioned it in one of these manual vs auto threads, but they said that those that want manual know without a doubt that opting to row the gears is the right choice for them. For those that are unsure or are having second guesses (especially those that have experience with manual), the auto would likely be the best choice for them in the long run.

I think that person hit the nail on the head.

If boost stays the same, I am guessing 575hp maybe 580hp on the high-end. IMVHO The ZL-1 main advantage over the GT-500 will be traction not really Horse Power. Stronger Axles, PTM, Magna Ride, 20x10 Front & 20x11 Rear wheels should keep the ZL-1 Glued to the road pretty well. Ford can give the GT-500 more HP but if it has a hard time getting it to the ground then it does not do much good, other than winning burnout competitions.

So they know what it's going to cost but just aren't releasing the numbers yet.

Everybody brace for impact when this thing comes in at $56k :(

Nice catch. Somebody said BLUE ?

.

EDIT: I thought the photoshopped blue ZL1 was the news he was talking about at first. Should have known Car & Driver wouldn't say anything nice about the Camaro. I did sign up over there just to post a rebuttal.

Not happening, I don't even see what they are looking at in the Picture? No IRS for the Mustang until 2014.

They should just make all the jaws hit the floor by giving us 625hp out the door, that 48-49K starting price, and some great new color option. DO-ETTTT GM.

I expect what they do give us will drop jaws nearly as easily...

Kinda, they started out with a BALLPARK target figure ( i didn't push for it), then built the car accordingly...... they still don't have a set price yet, and when they do, it won't be released until about a month before you can order.....Happy Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.
