Stabilitrak WORKS!

On my way home yesterday (3 lanes wide) a guy tried to sideswipe me as I passed him… I overreacted (my bad) and it think I woulda surely lost it but I actually FELT the car correct itself… it was REALLY weird… but in a good way. Stabilitrac got me back straight. I ended up with 2 tires on pavement and 2 on the gravel/grass shoulder going about 60… luckily I had enough wits left to NOT try to jerk back onto the pavement. I just rode out the shoulder for an bit and eased back on the blacktop. White knuckle ride for a second there!

Thumbs way up for that one GM!

that means that the mirror is 38.75% the size of the vertical windshield...
it sure seems like the ratio could be better... just sayin....

One of the first things I did was test that. Turn of TC and try to get her sidways/backward ect. Winters will be a breeze with the 5th gen compared to 4ths.

"tried to sideswipe" was just me typing lazy for "didnt see me and tried to change lanes DIRECTLY into the side of my car"
he was probably just tired of being caught in that lane and did not make proper checks before changing lanes VERY QUICKLY.
I am thinking it was a mistake and not intentional. that happens.
i am just glad all was well in the end!

Not with the summer tires they put on those 20" and 21" wheels it won't. I can't wait to see a "winter solutions" thread where people start showing off what they did to retrofit their cars to make them safer in the winter I really don't know much about tire sizes and stability in the winter, but I'd really like to see somebody throw some performance snow tires on 20" wheels. Tire Rack only gives you an 18" option...

Slightly off topic, but here's what it did for the winter tire situation. I know some of you want to stay with 20in set up, but slightly narrower tires are actually better in the snow. So with a higher profile and 18in wheels you get the same overall circumfrence. Check item # 5 in the thread below. My 2 cents....
