Ipod problem -

Ok, so My Ipod worked fine for the first two weeks, now when plugged into the USB the charging symbol appears on the Ipod(so power to socket) but the car system doesn't even pick up that it is plugged in...

Trouble is i'm in the UK so its not just a case of going to the dealer and waving a warranty in his face!......Is there a DIY fix for this????

It is happening to a lot of us. I got my car 2 days ago and my iPhone was working great, then yesterday nothing no charge like you as well. Kind of sucks that cause it appears that this issue has been on going for months and months.

This happens to me every once in a while. Car stops "seeing" the ipod and the ipod doesn't charge. Usually starts working again after I turn off the car and restart it...

My Ipod didn't work until I updated I-tunes. It may have been coincidence but true story.

I've had this issue since last June and it's annoying! Sometimes it sees it and sometimes it doesn't. Going to take in my car and see if there is a software update.

I had problems with my iPod too until I updated the firmware on the iPod. It's worked fine ever since.

I too have had this problem since June. It rarely happens, but sometimes when I start the car it doesn't "SEARCH FOR DEVICES..." and instead just goes to FM radio. I usually unplug the USB cable and reset the iPod and it works again. A couple of on/off cycles of the car ignition also works.

Months ago there was talk about a firmware/software update from GM, but my dealer has never been able to find any information on it.

I dropped my car off at the dealer today, they said there is an update but they are having trouble getting it downloaded to my car so they are keeping the car over night to try and fix it tomorrow. Will let you guys know if they are able to fix it.

Guess they didnt end up keeping it over night, just got back from the dealer. Not sure if my issue is the same as the one others were having but basically they said it was due to a pinch in circuit 3240 red/white wire of the multimedia player interface. They repaired pinched circuit 3240 and rerouted circuit and harness to prevent future problems.

Ok so I got it working again Downloaded new version of I-tunes (which specifically mentioned improving connection problems) and reset the Ipod by holding menu and centre button for 6secs(until apple symbol appears). Plugged it back in and started the car boom....working again.

There is a PI out for an update to the MPIM (Multimedia Player Interface Module ) The PI# is PI0055. Give this to them. I just did an update on a customers car today and it took about 30 min to complete. It was one of the longest reprograms I have done.

I just had my dealer activate mine today, I wonder If I got this update. I haven't had any issues yet, I'm just wondering if I need to ask them about it.
