I know it is not designed for the camaro but none of the rest of them are designed for the camaro either. The dash kit ( Metra / Schosche) is.

And you are correct. The units are made by Audiovox (remember them?). The unit will probably come with a vehicle specific harness, but you would just have to cut it off and splice it onto the Metra or Scosche harness (just like you would if you bought a Pioneer, Kenwood, etc).

Here is a link to the install manual (Click Here). From what I have found online, these units go for like $2000. Why would you want to pay that much for one of these when the aftermarket units are cheaper and have a ton more features?

Yah won't work. I installed a Advent OGM-1 in my girls Acadia. Nice unit and it cost was about $1K shipped. The plugs are direct fit for other GM cars with or ready for factory nav. The mounting won't work with the factory Camaro dash or fit in either aftermarket dash kits. In my Camaro I used the Scosche kit and Pioneer AVIC-140BH. It came out perfect.

I thought the same until I saw the install manual. Is it possible that they make a universal type unit?

No I didn't see anything from them that replaces the Camaro radio. The OGM-1 has a small curve to the face that really doesn't match the Camaros dash.
