Well as the Honda had 11.84hp per lb, and 13.66lb-ft per lb and the Camaro has ~ 12.43hp per lb, and ~13.85lb-ft per lb it should be about a dead heat depending on gearing and who get's the better start, etc. I mean yeah it's a Honda, but it's a Honda that'll beat just about all stock older muscle cars, so it's worthy competition in my book. Props to Honda for making an accord that can compete with a Camaro. I still think the Camaro is way sexier, so i won't be getting a Honda any time soon. Also if you put the 6k that you'd spend to get the base Accord coupe into the base Camaro's performance that race would be a laugh

yeah thats what im hopping for is that the camaro will be released and I will be pleasantly surprised but its not looking that way. When I say beat. I mean the accord should not be mentioned in the same sentence with any model of camaro. The camaro should beat it stop light to stop light and in the turns, im confident in the latter but the stop light to stop light still has me worried.

And also a 5 series weighs less I mean these cars are incomparable price wise but they are about the same length and the 5 is rwd and I’m pretty sure it has IRS. So I guess the horse has been beaten to death but the camaro is too fat. Also the 5 series is new model out so it has all the same safety equipment and emission pork as the camaro.

at the drag strip, the EvoX is going to blow the doors off the Camaro LT and LS... but the SS is going to be the faster car when stacked against the EvoX at the strip.
on a road course, again, the LS and LT Camaro will be road kill for the Evo... but the SS might be able to hold its own with the right driver... its signficantly more powerful, should have the power to weight ratio advantage and it should be easier to rotate with the throttle in case of understeer... it all depends on whether or not the Evo driver can get far enough ahead in the twisties to not be overtaken on the straights.

As for the Accord. I have absolutely no worries. The last numbers GM released was mid-late last year...they're ancient history now as the team has been massaging these cars over the past months. > Honda. |

In addition to the safety standards and rwd, the chassis for the Camaro was designed to not flex with over 500 ftlbs of torque from the engine (supercharged versions have been tested). The never bothered to 'de-inforce' the V6 cars.
