A use-less fact ....
Evo IX ring time 8.11 Evo X has a +/- same HP, a lil more LBS and about the same tracks times on various tracks . And 1 more use-less fact Evo X's are getting 60-100 whp gains with a reflash(or piggy back) and/or MBC's(running mid to high 12's).................

But the good thing is performance isn't hindered on the Camaro. The suspension does a great job at 'hiding' the weight based on magazine reviews and reports from the Camaro "disciples". It's an awesome vehicle. |

If you think the Camaro weighs a lot, remember that the T4 Lancer Evo weighs ~3500 lbs. Cobalt SS weighs ~3000. The biggest difference between the two that would account for weight is AWD. Otherwise they are both turbocharged 4 cylinder compacts that seat 5 and have sport suspensions. That AWD system weighs a lot but not 500 lbs.

Just think, those cars are on par with the BASE model of the Camaro...there's still a more powerful car in the lineup. The fact that the entire Camaro lineup can keep its head above the water so to speak is pretty impressive to me. |

There is always a bigger fish. The base model Camaro is an oustanding car for it's price. Once you start comparing it to other cars costing considerably more of course you're going to get disappointed a few times. The brilliance of this is that the car is so good you must start looking out of it's price range to find competition. Be happy for that.

For Example - Yes, a 2010 mustang GT will be able to beat a Camaro V6 at the strip (by all of .5 if you use the old GM estimate. I'm thinking it'll closer to .3 or .4 once they knock that .2 off the 0-60) but the difference will be incredibly small! Maybe a car length and a half at the finish line, at most! And considering that the mustang w/ track package (which is the one that got the 13.8 1/4) will cost as least 30,000, and 33,000 if its an option only available on the GT premium - we're talking a SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLAR DIFFERENCE in price. For the money, the GT should be a lot more than a car length ahead at the finish line. - Xanthos
