I decided to tackle this project on a car that has a Whipple Blower and Dual Stripped Body.

Hows the hood flex? Went to two trusted and reputable CUSTOM body shops and neither would touch the project. All voiced concerns about hood flex and cutting the hood supports in the center of the hood.

I have the extractor sitting in a box waiting.

My buddy was thinking the Hex vents would cut less of the hood and be a cleaner install and would keep far more of the structural rigidity of the hood intact.

Love to hear from the DIY guys who tackled the job.

Thumbs up

I had it done by a custom body shop near me. They stuck bracket around the heat extractor. They used some kind of epoxy to glue it to the hood. There is no flex what so ever.

Had Hex Vents on first Camaro and went with the OEM 2014 extractor this time around and glad I did! Looks OEM, clean, just flows better with the hood to me.

There have been a lot of people doing this and I haven't seen one mention of an increase in hood flex.

Check post #260 , about page 11, you can see the aluminum pieces that I epoxied to the hood and tucked under the front and back of the hood to stop the flex along the edges.

Anyone check their underhood temps before and after adding the hood vent? What decrease did you see? Thanks!
