Got to drive a Ferrari...then my car
So the wife got me a drive a Lamborghini or Ferrari gift certificate for Christmas at the track I used to race at..
Way more fun than I thought it would be... Then for an extra $30 they let me have the track for 45 minutes during their lunch break... My camaro I feel was faster in a straight line, but the Ferrari handled SO much better. It was my first time having my camaro on a track, gotta say it was awesome until I boiled the brakes! Major pucker factor! Once the brakes cooled they started working fine so I could drive it home. Now to schedule a fluid flush somewhere lol

Now you know exactly why when people ask what sort of preparation they should do before going to a track day / HPDE, one of the very first things they get told is to upgrade at least the brake fluid with one of the better DOT4 fluids. Followed by higher temperature capable pads. For fluids, that means ATE200, Motul RBF600, Castrol SRF in order of increasing price and periodic maintenance requirements. There are others, those are just the ones I know of offhand.
FWIW, if you've never done a brake job on this car, chances are that the fluid wouldn't have even met DOT3 specs . . . it'll have way more moisture content and a much lower boiling point. Norm

How much does it take to flush and refill a gen5 camaro SS with stock brembo brakes?
Which of these is the best? ATE200, Motul RBF600, Castrol SRF. And... What is a good set of rotors and pads for street, strip and track. I DD thing car right now and I have gone 130+mph. I drive sporty.

Not sure the amount you'd need, but in my experience racing Castrol SRF is the best. I used to boil all the different racing brake fluids and have to bleed brakes between races, once I switched to SRF I never boiled them again. SRF is speedy tho, it was around 115 a quart the last time I bought some. You do need to make a COMPLETE flush when switching, because it's silicon based and bad things happen when it mixes with standard fluids. I will switch to some kind of dot 4 maybe wilwood 600 or something. I don't track much so I won't put SRF in. But I couldn't recommend SRF more for racing

Get the motive bleeder. Soooo easy, you can bleed the brakes yourself in 1-2 hours.
