Should my L99 be showing more RWHP?
OK, I installed the ARH headers (w/cats and left factory mufflers), New Era CAI and a tune to my SIM L99. I don't have a bare bones dyno report, didn't have time to get it before my bolt-ons. So, before my tune but after the bolt-ons the DynoJet dyno said it had 345 rwhp. My tuner was only able to get it to 354rwhp. That's it. So, should my L99 be showing more HP with the boltons it has? If you believe the HP ads on the ARH (40+), New Era ( 18 +-) and let's say +15rwhp for a good tune, we're up to around 473 at the engine. Running 93 octane and pulled the fuses to reset the comp weeks before the tune. So, is it loosing 25% of its HP before it gets to the RW to show the max 354rwhp. I'm NOT a mechanic by any means. I'm just looking at the numbers.
Is this about right or is something off? Would appreciate any and all comments. Thanks.

Your using ricer math. Thats how the import guys decide how much hp their cars are making. By going off of advertised claims.
My car put down 347 with a CAI and tune. I would hope that I could get more than 10 peak hp out of it after that. That being said you need to look at the whole run and you will probably see that its a pretty big boost through out the powerband. |

no thats correct, you probably gained 30+ rwhp and at least 30 torque. On these new A6 trannies, that's pretty good. I bet they lose 5% more than the other autos. I also think you picked up more than .5-.6 seconds of ET and gained 3-4 mph. So there is the real name of the game.

I got 350 HP on dyno with L-99. CAI, Headers & no tune. But headers are coming off tomorrow. To much noise with AFM. Good luck.

I would have the afm programmed out, gets same mpg and less pain in the butt.

Who did the tune? That dos not sound right to me and you have more torque than HP that is funny dos any one no of a L99 that makes more TQ than HP.

Sounds about right for the bolt-ons... New Era will get you a little more moving down the road. But that tune definitely should have gotten you more. only 9hp??? torque should have been even more.
Yes torque on the L99 will go above HP or pretty close to the same on most tunes. but this one is even higher |

was this car at Southgate on Sunday?
Think I saw it there, I have the powder coated New Era intake, think it looks much better than the raw finish

I appreciate everyone's input. As far as noise for the AFM, I had it reset to come on at 60mph. Made a big difference. Now when it does hit 60+, it's not so annoying as it was when it was going in and out at around 45.

It's so tough to tell without a base dyno to compare. My L99 makes 340+rwhp with just a tune, although those are corrected numbers. Is your dyno SAE corrected?
