I'm about to pull the trigger on my christmas wishlist.

I have the no tune model and had a JRE tune. No complaints here! I'm thinking of upgrading to the tune version and the wedge also!

Can you elaborate why?
Can you tell me why?
Will it not do what they say it can do? I am experimenting with bolt ons to see what i get in real life speed improvements over dyno results. without intrusion into the engine internals. Maybe someone from Vararam can help out with this one??? Thanks for the input though....

It was beaten to death in another thread, hit the search this thread button. It's many pages long. Bottom line if you tilt the throttle body it will not change anything, it doesn't let more air in etc etc. it's like a tornado blade in your intake that makes your V8 get 40 mpg lol. You get proven power by Lt's, vararam and a tune.

Sorry, I think the wedge is worth every penny. Running the Vararam "no Tune" and the wedge. Awesome! I just put in a standard Diablo 91 octane tune. I would go 93 if it were more available here. Anyhow, what a difference! Highly recommend it.

We have tested 4 cars with the Wedge and it has gained on EVERY car. I had my doubts when were going to try it. I was very surprised it did work. Now I believe its well worth the $100.

Can someone explain how the vararam system comes "tuned" , i never understood how the airbox can be tuned or untuned as a free standing unit??

The tune model means you need to tune your cars ecm for it to run well, the non tune model works with the stock tune.

More please

Is there a physical difference in the two? Do you need to replace the entire assembly to go from tuned to no tuned? I ask because i might want to go from no tune to tune model but don't want to buy the complete assy. all over again.

Yes there is a physical difference between the two. To go from a No Tune (needed) to a Tune (needed) is as simple as changing the tail section, which Vararam sells for $100. The tail section being the section that houses the MAF sensor. I started a thread picturing both side by side as the physical differences, initially to me, were fairly small. Let me see if I can find that thread. Found it. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...hlight=Vararam

Thanks for that!
Cleared it all up for me. Seems like a good deal to get the no tune Until it comes time for the serious HP adders like Fi or Nitrous. Just another 100.00 for a tune only replacement...not bad. I'm doing L/T headers and the Vararam with tune for the headers and speed sensor removal no tune should be fine.
