Trip was awesome. I wish I could say more, but then they wouldn't let me back in. I am just a bit more than half way through Car Guys. In the book, Mr. Lutz says the real test of his time at GM will come three or four years after he left. If design is stellar and leading the company into passion driven sales years after he will consider his GM time a success. Based on my visit, Mr. Lutz did his job well. The design TEAM at GM is arguably the best ever. Couple that with the ZL1 track cycle style testing, global engineering expertise and good financial management and you have a GM with an bright future.

Now if we could just get those guys to change that V to a Z...

Can we get these seats in the ZL1 or are they reserved for the Z/28?

The cars are great, but it's the people with passion for GM that create the cars. I know GM isn't perfect, but damn they are really good right now.

BTW, I already have Z fever. I am developing a bad case of V fever. They need to change the name so I can treat both my fevers. If they change it to a CTS-Z...
....hmmmmm, lemme see...Pete gets the royal carpet tour of GM Design Center (wow!)....knows confidential information, leaves impressed and has a bad case of both a Z and a V fever that could be treated with a name change of a CTS Z,...that's so totally enigmatic...WOW !!!...I'd say things are really looking up for us down the road!

We all knew this was coming, but I think it reflects concern over at Ford with the strength of GM.

DIRTY!!!

Wow...after the whole "happy birthday GM" window lights, and everything....f'ers.

I guess you've got to take drastic measures when you're threatened, though.

hrm...grrrr....and that's not all what America's about...not on the grand scale anyways. So sad some people have lost sight of what's the first priority: each other, and our unified commitment to freedom.

Hrmmm...

I just figured it was a photoshop.

I've never seen IBM look like that in the sun. Maybe with some creative lighting + sun and a little fiddling with the color saturation & contrast.

Beau-tee-ful though.

As for the F word commercial, it's just like other negative ads. You use them when the good stuff you can say about yourself isn't good enough to do the trick.

That got me to thinking about the culture we have settled into where putting someone down to make yourself look better is common.

In my opinion, what America needs is a return to Decency, Liberty, and Personal Responsibility. The rest would sort itself out.

I'll try to do my part. It's an individual choice, not something that can be fixed by passing a law. In my opinion, many Americans have succumbed to a culture of narcissism, and that is what is choking out our economy and our future.

Just to be clear, I'm talking about people & philosophy here, not politics.

Ford's been pulling this sh*t for a while now. Remember Farley's remarks a few months ago?

They're pissed that they "didn't take a bailout," yet GM still murders them in sales every month. They've completely rebuilt their lineup, they have a new infotainment system, yet GM still outsells them.

What they fail to realize, though, is that a lot of Americans simply don't give two sh*ts about the automotive bailouts anymore. It's old news. The ad actually generated more negative press for Ford than positive as a lot of folks saw it as a low-blow and ironic considering how Mullaly also went to Congress.
