The other thing is that I think a lot of people are commenting on the amber outter taillights...they are just misinformed about why they are actually amber. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the upheaval is about the way the breaks light up (I know that it's been talked about in previous threads, but not this time specifically). Aren't the amber taillights for Euro-spec vehicles (and Australia). If I remember correctly, the 4th Gen Camaros that were exported to Great Britain also had the taillights changed. I can't find find a picture...unfortunately...and feel free to school me on this...or please post a picture if you have it. Thanks!
I think (and please inform me if i'm wrong...) that the amber is also a Canadian thing... i was driving behind a 4th gen the other day that had the yellow blinker lights on the tail. I say that it is Canadian because i live in Up state NY and we see a lot of Canadians and Canadian vehicles around here. Not only that one thread in the 3rd Gen portion of the site had a guy that owns several 3rd gens in Canada and they have the amber lights in the back. So i think other than the US basically the amber is there. It isn't for braking, but for turn signals.

I should have mentioned that I knew that the amber lights were indicators...(turn signals)....However, there were US-spec 3rd Gen and 4th Gen Camaros (I believe '97-02) with amber indicators...BUT what I was saying was that their LOCATION within the tail light setup was different. Here's a US-spec 4th Gen:

And here's a US-spec 3rd Gen:

Anyway, Tag, I know that you're SS has amber in the tail light setup...do they actually function as turn indicators?? Or do the outter red lights blink, like in the '93-'96 Camaros? Let me know...then this Thread Jack can end...even though it was my fault...

There is no amber mandate for Canada. I've never seen a Corvette with amber lights here. And if they don't have them, the Camaro won't. Well, at least for ontario.

Not Tag, but I can say the amber portion did function as the blinker (turn signal) on my '02.

Though for a year or two I'd traded out the stock taillights for some altezza style ones that had red turn signals.

Omega...

The turn signal on the (or at least my) 4th Gen is only the amber light. The outer red does not blink....just the amber below the reverse light.

First off, welcome!! I think you'll have a good time here, at Camaro5.

I did want to comment on the last point you made;

The camaro is really no bigger than the Current Mustang in any dimension. (If anything, see roof-height below, it's smaller)

Don't think for one second that the engineers are ignoring the effects that those wheels may have on the perforrmance of the car. For instance, notice how the same style from the concept car's rims is evident...only with MUCH thinner spokes??

Don't worry too much about that, They know what they're doing.
Take the G8 for example.

Wecome to the site!

Careful, don't get too excited about those headlights. Scott Settlemire of GM has said ":notheadlights:" Thet are just placeholders until the production lights are available. Same goes for the Tail lights...

We still don't "know" very many facts about what the production Camaro will be. But you will find a ton of educated guesses.

See ya on the boards!

In the range of 5-15 minutes, I assume.
