Z28?
I know there are no official plans for a z28 right now. This is just a situation i was thinking about and was wondering what you guys thought. What are the chances that in 2011 they come out with the Z28 with the LS7 in it? I know the z28 has been the "bad boys" of the camaro and after seeing the LS7 concept camaro I was thinking/wishing that chevy would turn that into the Z28. What are your guys thoughts?

I suspect the ls7 will never go into another production car. It'snear the end of it's life cycle so why throw it into a new platform? There are better options already on the table at GM that make more sense.

Do you have any idea how much the LS7 costs? It would be reckless to put it in a Camaro and sell a mass produced Z28. The Z28 has never been limited or low production, so this wouldn't make sense.
There is no evidence of a Z28 at this time. We've been over all of the theories, and some ridiculous ideas, already.

Will they bring back the Z28, yes. Will it happen before you can pay off the 2010, no. GM has suspended R&D until they are in a better financial situation which includes the Z28. R&D typically takes 2-3 years so if it takes GM 2-3 years before they are able to start up R&D again, it will take another 2-3 for a Z28 to come out. Personally I'm not expecting a Z28 to come out until 2015 MY at the earliest. |
