Yknow...I want to teach my wife how to drive mine also (I've got a 2LT and not an SS :( ). But she is terrified of the whole shifting gears and clutch concept. In your case I would say if she really wants to learn and is confident she can, then let her do it!

after failing at her first burnout attempt I showed her how to fully disable the traction control so she will not embarass herself or the Camaro again.

I say YES, mine drives it as often as she wants but prefers the passenger seat

With that history I would say if it was me it would be "no"

My wife is a good driver and can drive our SS anytime she wants. Only thing I warned her about is curbing the rims as she tend to pull up tight to the curb which our rims are not forgiving if you bump them.

One other thing is your are married so technically it is part her car too... LOL

I say yes and I'm learning stick on our SS. Actually, I heard the same advice to learn how to ride a motorcycle on a small cc beater. That didn't happen, I learned on a brand new 1200cc.

I say why bother going small when you can go BIG.

First things first, if you own one of the largest Collision Centers in New Orleans, you can afford her mistakes or fix them.. If you are worried about her wrecking your baby buy her one of her own.., she is your wife, so she deserves it...

Hey there La. neighbor!
I'm a woman, and my daily driver is the V6 with an exhaust upgrade
& pistol grip Barton shift handle. << awesome!
My husband wanted the Camaro to be a manual, so we have one.
(This is our 5th manual, BTW, so I do have experience.)
It's a lot of power, Camaros like to GO!!! Even the V6's!
If we had the V8, I'd probably be in jail for speeding -lol - 'cause I like to go, too!
(These roads in La. with their silly speed limits - ugh!)
I'd recommend teaching her on a tamer car, not that new SS Camaro, IMHO.
Just concerned about the learning on such a powerful car.
But that's just my thought on it. Yes, teach her, and then totally let her drive the SS.
But teach her on a bit tamer car. And yes, women who drive a stick are cool!
You know her best, and own a collision shop, so it's absolutely your call!
Hope we meet y'all both sometime at a La. get-together.
~Nicole

Two points of view...one from the point of view that I happen to be a woman...and my answer would simply be: There is not going to a discussion or poll...my husband...my car...now hand over the keys and some help in the learning department.

Now, from a very "crazy in love with my car" point of view...No freaking way in hell!

She's your wife.. as long as it is a safe place, let her give it a shot!.... But no grocery getting, that's asking for door dings and parking lot accidents.
