This is not good.

Toyota plans to introduce their plug-in hybrid a year ahead of the Volt. It won't be a full-fledged release like the Volt's will, but it's still kinda sucky. Edit: Although we all know what happened last time Toyota rushed *cough* Tundra *cough*, and that would be a major dent in their reputation, so this might not be such a bad thing after all. |

Hmmmm, We'll see. I'd hate to see them get to the market first. But it still doesn't compare to the volt.... Interesting....

They also said they only plan to produce 250 for the US, that isn't even note-worthy, There are more Veyrons in the US than that ffs.

They're only sending 150 of these vehicles the the U.S.
The Volt'll be a full production car that anyone can buy.

If this is the one they were talking about earlier last year...it gets like 7 miles on a charge. This thing is crap. The Volt is by far superior, but I admit; Company 'T' will have a slight edge in that even though they aren't full-market cars, they got here first.
...But they're still crap. Can't hold a candle to the Volt, imo. |

Ha, what, you mean the plug-in prius? The 2010 model? That looks like this piece of sh*t?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Keep it up toyota! Self-destruction is hilarious when toyota's the one doing it! Ooo...what's that? Aww, you still use gas in your prius? We don't in our Volt!

You forgot the part where our Volt doesn't look like a shoebox on wheels.
I'm not that particularly worried about it, but I'd still rather not see the bastards have ANY bragging rights, and despite what they say, we know exactly why they're doing it, and that's to beat GM to the punch, which I guess is the purpose of business, but it being their right doesn't mean I have to be happy about it. |

actually... we do. it just uses gas to power the generator that recharges the electric cells.

For the vast majority of American commuters, Volts won't have to use gas for weeks, perhaps months on end.

Watching Conan, he talked about Toyota's new car.. and said GM's runs on Panda blood and rainforest trees.... hmm. Something tells me GM should get this car out to market fast.

Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Here is the difference between the D3 and the japanese automakers. Detroit builds Fuel cell vehicles and calls them prototypes, because that is what they are to the engineers. then they give those vehicles to the public to test in real world conditions. Honda on the other hand builds fuel cell vehicles and sells them at a large markup to the public calling it a production model, but then follows the cars around with a pen and paper doing all kinds of real world test conditions. really its the same thing except for the marketing aspect and that people are paying to be an experiment. Now, this sounds somewhat familiar. Toyota is putting together a few plug in "production" prototypes, and selling them on market so they can follow those buyers around with a pen and paper. I'm not really a fan of paying to play lab mouse. i really favor GMs stratagy and they will be the first real "production plug-ins". congrats.
