Radar Detector - Hard Wire

Hello. Can someone post clear instructions on the easiest way to hardwire radar detector safely so that it powers down correctly and does not put a draw on the battery.

Thanks.

Thanks everyone. This will help immensely.

Now I need to get my hands on a legit detector. I have a 10 year old Cobra that's basically a joke.

Anyone have one for sale?

Anyone have recommendations?

Not looking to spend $500.

Highly recommend the passport Max's, but the problem with detectors is they're picking up blind spot monitoring systems on modern cars, and only so many (more expensive) models are introducing filtering technology. Even my max 360 still gives falses (although far less than my passport Max did)

?

What do you guys think about this?

Good buy? Can I get something better for $200?

Any potential issues to watch out for?

Im thinking hard about this...

Just talked to the guy and he said its a few years old but he sent it in to Valentine in January and they "upgraded everything to the latest versions"

Does that make sense? I am not aware if Valentine offers this type of service or not.

Anyone know if this is possible?

you live in VA.. you probably want something that's not detectable. V1 is detectable.. state trooper will pull you over for it and potentially take it. I would look for a redline or bell STI

Interesting. Thanks. Not really aware of VA laws. Only been here since January and Im actually moving out of state again in late July.

Really just wondering if people think this is a good value.

V1 for $200. Do it or not?

Valentine 1 does offer an upgrade that does help in filtering false reads

Seems like a decent value but radar detectors are illegal to operate in Virginia.
