Obviously fake.

GT500 brakes would've failed after 7:40 of hard use, and internal temps would have been deep into the red.

On a more serious note, this video just shows how ignorant some can be on both sides of the competition. Someone yesterday was dogging the GT500 and Jamaal Hameedi saying the GT500 was an embarrassment and was probably a solid 8:xx car on the stupid ring.

Both cars are pretty evenly matched around a road course and on a drag strip. While the road course potential is up in the air still, the couple tenth advantage in the quarter mile for the snake is easily made up by a small error at launch by a driver like myself.

Two things I took away are this:

1- The driver from GM appeared to be better, he was using all of the track and had better line into a turn resulting in a better exit.

2- The ZL1, regardless of the driver, is flat out awesome through the turns. Given it's weight disadvantage, I think it is very impressive.

Also doesn't really say alot because it has been seen several times that the GT500 suffers from brake fade soon after it's fastest lap.

The GT500 being capable of ZL1 times and the GT500 being faster than the ZL1 are two totally different things though. I'm not saying it's not capable - I'm saying it's not faster.

Is the driver better or is the car just easier to drive? I think the ZL1 is a lot easier to drive to the limit than the GT500.

I think this is right. OP is trolling, either accidentally or on purpose.

I wondering what the lap time of the zl1 would be if the same methodology was used to measure the lap time. My guess is there is enough error in the method to make any apples to apples comparison null and void.

svt trumps the ZL1 with GT500?

http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...urgring-2.html

you guys can watch and gather what you will. I think both cars are awesome...but I'm more of a drag racing fan...So take it as you will.
