I popped the Hawks on myself with no resurfacing/scuffing of the rotors. There was no squeaking at all for almost 4000 miles (!)

Of course, I had no squeaking with Brembos either until I switched back.

I just had my front and rear rotors resurfaced, and had the Hawk HPS pads installed. (They have a great bite to them, BTW) I bedded the brakes exactly how the instructions told me to, and i haven't had any squeaks so far. Its been a week.

My brakes were squeeking today as I pulled out of my parking space. The e-brake froze from this nasty winter weather. I had to back up and exercise it some to get it to release. I hate it when that happens...

Mine squeak when i head out for work, but by the time I leave the division the sound is gone. Mostly when it rains.

I prefer the hear the squeak than the feel of hard ass tires on cold mornings.

Just let me know if you want those documents. I have pdf and hard copies of everything so wouldn't be a problem to upload them.

EDIT: after reading all of the posts I figured I would post a thread about it. "Everything You Ever Needed to Know about Your Squealing Brakes"

Awesome, going to look into it now.

Update guys... My brakes are squealing HORRIBLY now!!!
They were fine at first, not sure what went wrong... This is really frustrating. Sounds like i need brakes when that is clearly not the case. and they arent just squeaking, they are screaming! Mainly at low speeds....

Don't believe the "it's normal for high performance brakes to squeek" line. With my SS, I got quite tired of the squeeking. I took them in, along with the TSB that was floating around a few months ago, and had the dealership replace the brake pads. No more squeeking. So: dig around for that TSB. Regardless if you find it or not, get the dealer to replace the pads and you'll be fine.

Long story short. I did A LOT of research

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127536

Don't know if I mentioned it in that thread, but GM recognized that the squealing was a problem and we (GM and I) did a camaro swap. They took my 2010 IOM and I got a 2011 Black on Black

Brakes normally squeek after an oxidation caused by rain, puddles, or sheer humidity of the air. Don't sweat it, bro. It's all good.

Wish they would swap with me! LOL... I have to get these checked out asap, because this is not a normal squeak... They scream! They do it even more when I'm pulling into my driveway which is on a slight incline... Not sure if that has anything to do with it...

Also, I know my dealer may try to blame it on the new Hawk HPS pads now that i had the stocks swapped out...
