Well, folks, with the recent LS9-powered ZR1 Corvette pounding of the Nurburgring in a record time of 7:19, you just knew the LS7-powered Z06 deserved a turn...right?

Results?

Just a mere 7:22!!!!!!!!!

http://www.z06vette.com/forums/f62/z...rgring-122661/

Who'da thunk? WE WOULD!!

If we don't get a Z/28 powered by an LS7, THIS just might be a reason why... Remember, the ZL1 only has an LSA...

As to Mr. Settlemire's absence, here, he just stated he's "never led us wrong", or words to that effect. And it's too soon for "official" comment, one way or the other. Draw your own conclusions...

You'll notice one very significant improvement, equipment-wise, for the Z06...TIRES!

They're also one of the reasons, if not THE reason, the BOSS is so curve-crazy.

There's no substitute for gription...and I'm sure Al will take note.

Fix'd ya!

You can put all the tech and engineering magic into the powertrain and chassis, and suspension and braking systems....but it won't amount to a darn thing if you don't have a good set of rubber connecting the car to the road.

That run by the Z06 was amazing...I would have never believed it if it hadn't been recorded!

Wow, just compared lap times, and the Z06 was 1 minute faster than the Camaro SS. Unbelievable!!!

And that was an 85% Camaro, on a suspension that was still being tuned.

I think I heard that there are unconfirmed reports of the final production version running an 8:15, not that that matter anymore since the SS gets the new FE4 suspension tuning now. Speaking of which, I wonder if they've got times for an FE4 equipped SS.
