For some reason, if it ain't a Volkswagen or a pick up truck, it doesn't come with a diesel in North America.

I don't get it either. Just think of all the TORQUE........... mmmmmmm..... torque.

Yes, but you pay more for diesel here and you have to add urea now to meet US emissions, boooooooooooo.

By the way where is Shno? Seems with the problems in Egypt and Libya he has not been around much.

With what gas prices are right now, I think the added fuel economy and torque-yness of a diesel would offset the extra cost.

Not nearly. Gas would have to go up significantly more, and diesel would have to stay where it is....to make any sense economically. Or.....the EPA could get their heads out.

In most European countries, diesel costs less than gas. I think here in Michigan for example, Diesel is an extra 10% over gasoline due to the tax structure. So a Cruze Eco or Focus XFE (or whatever they are calling it) with a diesel would have to pull 45, 46 mpg to be even. And that doesn't consider that a diesel engine option costs more to purchase, requires urea injection to meet modern U.S. emissions standards so over all it would have to do 50 plus mpg to come close to being cost effective.

How are you going to fit all these GM dream cars into your garage? What are your three favorites world wide?

Seems eerily similar to the Cruze you can get here, Fen.

And answer the question............3 "current" favorites. I know that will likely change by Wednesday, but that's ok.

Nice list. The CTS-V didn't make the cut?
