Opinions on these wheels for Drag Racing

Interested in slapping some Drag Radials on these. Opinions?

The offsets are too high... no chance on fitting. You can run up to like a 50mm and have to grind down the LCA. That 56 probably wouldn't fit at all.

You would have to run a spacer.

I can't say for sure either way. I have my doubts it would fit. But I do know that "mlee" was selling some Corvette replica wheels a while back that were 18x10.5 (+53 offset), and they fit without any spacers or modifications. Which make me wonder....is 3mm really going to make the difference between fit and no fit??? I wish I could give you a definitive answer. Unfortunately, the wheels he was selling were very limited, and I do believe he has tried to find some more....with no luck.

Yeah, I saw that post and it got me looking. I'm a little confused as to the offset I should be looking for in an 18x10.5 inch wheel.

Man what a deal that would be, if you had to run a small spacer to make it work it, would be worth it. Your going straight in a drag race and not taking hard corners, I ran cheap spacers on my 11 sec car for years without issues. No worries if you had to use one!

The 53mm offset wheels clear the brakes by about 8mm. You would think that would mean you could run the 56mm wheels and still clear since there is only a 3mm difference in offset, but that is not the case.

The 56mm and 53mm offset wheels are different castings. They are not the same with just a thicker pad. The back of the spokes are different and that is why they don't fit.
