Cool Soccer dad WAR: CTS-V wagon vs Grand Cherokee SRT-8

What would you soccer dad's prefer?

I'd think id choose the SRT-8 because I live in the snow country and it's a PITA for my GT500 to ever hook up on its factory tires so it would be nice to have AWD and actually be able to get someone at a red light. It can also tow my junk since it now has a trailer hitch. The CTS-V is an awesome machine but too similar to the Z/28 which is similar to my GT500 but I would get one if they offered it with AWD, until then my dream soccer dad mobile will be the new GC SRT-8 with the new 8 speed auto and a trailer hitch.

Tough decision for me. If I were to stay in California and have no need for carrying stuff around, I would want the CTS-V. Coupe preferable.

But if I planned on moving up north, I would definately want the SRT8. I like them both, but two completely different power levels and uses.

I would take the SRT-8. I love the CTS-V sedan and coupe but the wagon not so much. I just think wagons in general are useless and ugly. I would much rather have an SUV if I needed room to carry stuff.

CTW-V. I prefer it over the CTC, but would rather have a CTS. SUV's that have no off-road capability at all do not interest me at all. I'd take a Wrangler over a Grand Cherokee SRT-8.

I don't know too many people that take their brand new suv's "off road" or 4 wheeling, but 99% of them need the AWD for living in snow country. SRT-8's with snow tires kick major butt in the snow and mud. Your totally right the Wrangler is the only new vehicle that can actually go off road and do well but still need body protection and a winch and Wrangler's suck for a daily driven suv and just get turned into a hard core rig if your looking for a suv with "off road capability" like you put it. So the other 99% of owners just need a SUV that wont get stuck in the snow and not looking for a rockcrawler.

My dad has an 08 four door wrangler with big tires and a lift kit and has never even taken it off road. I prefer performance SUVs like the Cayenne Turbo S

If we're talking about a "no consideration for money" high performance people hauler, then there are lots more crazy options:

Cayenne turbo - 550 HP
X5 M - 555 HP
M63 AMG - 505 HP
Landrover Sport - 510 HP

Personally, I like the Porsche because it's actually a great offroader, high performance, luxurious, has a high towing capacity, and still has curb appeal even if it has questionable looks. Love the Caddy wagon too though! I'd love to drive one!

I wonder if they'll be putting the 392 in the SRT8 now? That would be a nice game changer!
