The VIR lap time for the 1LE has to be put in context. All the times being compared to the 1LE were done by Car & Driver. The 1LE lap time was done by GM's driver (Aaron Link).

Put Aaron link in the Grand Sport or Z51 and it is certain to be faster than the 1LE.

The question is whether the hood wrap will last.

if you remove the hood wrap is the hood going to be the same color as the rest of the car underneath?

I like it, reminds me of when Plymouth had the black hoods on Dusters with the 340 Wedge decal.

It should....

My Cobalt SS has matte black vinyl wrap on part of the door from the factory. It still looks like it did the day I purchased it back in 07'.

The DOOR is much different than the hood which is at the front of the car, though.

Yes. I know this....

but it should hold up fine.

What I was getting at with my Cobalt's door vinyl is the FINISH still looks new. Even after repeated hands open and closed the doors. No scratches or wear are present.

Will the 1le hood wrap hold up to rock chips?? Well, it all depends on how thick the wrap is. It might even do better since the material is some what flexible vs. the more rigid surface of paint.

If people are that worried.... just remove the wrap. It is painted underneath

yeah, curious how the paint will look underneath. You'd THINK peeling off the wrap (and subsequent intense cleaning of whatever stickiness is there) would it then look flat WHITE. LOL

Hmm.... Not sure.

I'm almost 100% positive it has been confirmed to be painted/cleared underneath. I'll have to look up the thread I read that in just to confirm it.

^ Here's a shot of a 1LE w/o the hood wrap or black spoiler yet....

Where's the option for "who cares about a hood wrap, the car is quick as hell"?
