I got that tint crap ticket in DC and there is no way around removing the tint because they make u go to a DMV inspection station and they are complete TOOLS!!! I removed it and got the paper to show and retinted it immediately after...lol!

doctorwill-->thought of 1 other way you could keep your tint...there is a form you can have an allergist or skin doc fill out and complete stating that you, the Mrs./Mr., or kid(s) have a sensitivity to light whether it be skin or allergies and have it certified by the LEO.....usually most officers when pulling you over for it(tint) will accept a current(yearly) letter from the doc........my wife runs it that way, a letter from the allergy doc keeps the peace

So there's no getting around it huh? I got pulled over yesterday and got a repair order for the tint. I'm really trying to avoid taking it off just to have to put it back on.

I find it funny. I have has 15% sides and 10% rear since may of 2009. and NEVER was asked about tint by johnny law. I have been pulled over plenty for speeding tho. or burning out.

Howdy stranger....lol!!! Nope there is no way around it....unless you're light sensitive and or have some medical disorder that a doctor will give you a medical waiver for. Stop being such a stranger lady!

Same goes here. Ive learned if you have respect and dont drive like an Idiot then most likely those small things slide. If by chance you do end up with a ticket then just remove it and take it back to the shop and have it retinted. Ive dealt with the same shop for all my vehicles over the years and they always stood behind it If it had to be removed they would replace it free.

Yep you gotta take it to a MVA state police inspection spot. I went to the one off of rt.2 Ritchie hwy to get mine done. But beware.I took my old truck there and they spent 10 seconds looking g at the tint but then spent 5 minutes looking the entire truck over righting down everything that was wrong. They made me replace all my headlights because the glass was tinted blue "silver stars" turn signals and taillight bulbs. Apparently tinted glass bulbs in MD is illeval. Also I had rims on the truck so he said the tires did not have enough load rating for the truck so I had to go buy a spare set of steelies and tires to make it pass inspection. They are a royal pain. So after that was all finished I put it all back on ;-)
