Don't blame the design- blame the economy, and lack of stimulation of the product.

It seemed like the world was against it, even though it was every bit a winner...sad story. :(

I don't, I owned a 2002 SS and loved every minute of it. I just think a lot of people look at it as a symbol of the "old GM" and won't want to revisit it, especially so soon.

I guess it all depends on what Michael Bay wants Bumblebee to look like in Transformers 7.

IMO, incremental changes that flow well with the current car are good and not a re-hash of the Camaro with 2nd gen styling cues. I don't think this car looks at all like a 67 - it takes few, yet important cues and does worlds with incorporating it into a more modern sports car-like design.

I think 5th gen will age very well, much better than the 4th. I always thought the 4th gen looked like an upside down, well worn bar of soap.........

The interior can change totally, I am not bonkers with any of it.

Only problem with this is that the whole 911 platform is designed for the 911 whereas they fit the Camaro on one of the platforms they have. It makes it easier to make the 911 look like what you want.

I understand they are moving the Camaro to the alpha platform which is smaller (I think). So it would be hard to make it look right and fit people if they want to keep the same proportions- wouldn't it? Take 4 inches off the length and you'd have to take about 1.5 inches off the height for instance.

Actually Alpha is going to have the Cadillac CTS as well, and it's going to ad a couple of inches, where as the Cadillac ATS will be a little smaller than the current CTS. So it's a chassis will support different sizes. I would guess the Camaro will be 3-4 inches shorter than the current car.

Not a bad conclusion! I like the way you think!
