Drove the new Camaro today!
One of the perks of living near Oshawa is that there are a number of new Camaros out and about with GM staff memebers. One of our local Corvette buddies works for the General and brought out a new 2SS/RS today for us to take a look at. I got to drive the car and can report that is drives really well! This was an LS3 425hp version with manual tranny. All of us loved the car, but felt it did not have the snap that a 405hp Z06 has and it didn't sound as nice. The interior is very nice and the car rides really well. One of the best parts of my drive was seeing the face of a guy in a new Challenger RT when I pulled up beside him
Here's a quick video of one of the guys taking it out... |

I heard some random "ticking" type sounds after that car started. Was that noise coming from the car/engine, or was it something blowing in the wind around the person holding the camera?

I don't know what that clicking is??? I didn't hear it when taking the vid and there was no lens cap on the camara (it doesn't have one ). I did notice hearing the shifter when he put it in reverse, but everything else sounded fine on the car. I wasn't sure if I would buy one before the drive, but I certainly will now. I don't care for the Orange colour personally, but a lot of the guys there did.
For those who are local, this took place behind the Chapters store at Sherway Gardens. We meet there every Saturday morning at 10 am during the good weather months for coffee and BSing. Mostly Corvettes and Porsches, but I'm sure there will be a few Camaros out there too in the Spring. Anyone is welcome... |
