installing HUD into a 2012 Dash?

I am wanting to upgrade my 2010 plastic dash, to the 2012 leather HUD ready one. I have been looking all over for one, and I finally found a perfect Leather 2012 dash for a great price, the only problem it is not HUD compatible. Is it pretty simple to install HUD into a non HUD dash, and still make it look factory? Would it be worth it to get this dash and just install the HUD cutout myself, or should I hold out and wait until i find a HUD ready one?

Heck, if two fifty plus year old guys (Ofer and I) can do it, anyone can.
