Well I have to say,

My wife likes the Mustang, hell two of her cousins(both females) drive a base V-6 model, her reason, it has a nice shape. However..................................

She has also took a gander at the upcoming 5th gen Camaro, on my poster, at the 2-year olds model that he got for Christmas, and on this website and she admits that she definitely finds this one to be sharp and nice looking! i asked her why versus the 4th gen, and like Dragoneye spoke it to be, the new Camaro looks easier to drive and cuter. But did made an assumption that this new Camaro may cost too much and told me to get the cheapest version :(

But to prove the point of this topic is to

So hopefully GM can appeal to the female buyer and sway her to buy a Camaro so my wife wont sweat me about my SS!

My poor dad got stuck with three daughters. I'm the middle, stuck between an older and younger sister who are both Mustang-obsessed. So I have the experience of being a Chevy fan surrounded by a family of Ford fanatics. My older sister used to have a Mustang, but she traded it a few years back for her Dodge Ram, which is her everyday driver (she stiffed my brother-in-law with their Intrepid). Younger sister currently owns a Mustang, which has had its fair share of mechanical problems, so it's safe to say her love affair with that pony is over. Even my mother prefers the Mustang over any of the other muscle cars out there.
I was lucky enough for my first car to be a Chevy. (Dad couldn't find a Ford at the time that he would even consider buying, let alone price.) My two best cars were both Chevys, although not Camaros. I've never had the pleasure of owning one, but that hasn't stopped me from wishing and planning to buy one.
Where I live, I see more Mustangs driven by guys, but there are quite a few women who have them. I've seen two GTs and a Cobra driven by women.
Would I have one? No.
I took a test-drive in a 2006 Mustang V6 back in October just to get an idea what they're like.
Verdict? Boxy and heavy. Drove like a tank. That's just my opinion. It was a nice car, but not for me.
(BTW, I currently drive a Ford Contour, aka the "Ford Lemon," or as one of the salesmen at the dealership called it one day last year when I had it in for repairs, "the worst mistake Ford ever made. Needless to say, I'm counting down the days until I can get rid of that albatross around my neck and buy a Camaro.)
So, is a Mustang a chick car? In my experience, yes.

sorry, still think the mustang is a chick car. more v6 models may be for chicks but it seems like even some of the guys i see driving the v8 might fall under that catagory too.

GC
Again going back to the Origional Poster Question
Mustangs being "chick" cars, will the Camaro?

My Answer is It better be, because if it does not appeal to women the 5th Gen Camaro with die just like the 4th Gen did
so you better hope a lot of women are buying the V6 Camaros so us guys can have the V8's for many years to come, Simple as that.

I have a feeling we will be seeing a whole lot of new Camaros on the road in another year. I don't think the Camaro has anything to worry about for at least a few years. I do hope the ladies like them too, because as we all know they have a lot of influence in the purchase of a new car in any household.

I'm not worried about the 5th Gen Camaro, it won't die but thanks for the warning. I can't wait to pull up next to a girl in a Camaro with my Camaro, it's what it looks like on the streets of Heaven.

This fall I saw a very nicely done 'eleanor' and as a faithful camaro driver I made a point to pass it to see who was driving it. (expecting an older guy) He turned out to be a 40/50 something female... that surprised me.

IMO: I hope 2 girls to a guy buy the Camaro to keep it alive so I can get the top dog and hopefully my boy (or girl) can someday too....

My only request is that the V6 model looks A LOT different than the V8 model. More than just the addition of fog lights and a wing on the V8. The V8 model should have a functional cowl induction hood and true dual exhaust to seperate it from the V6 model. It's going to be important for the people who are willing to spend more money on a high performance V8 model to have more flash than the V6 model. People should consider them two different cars, because they are.

^Or you can just rev the engine and it's obvious. I mean come on, anyone intrested enough hears a difference between a V6 and a V8.
