2SS M6 Transmisson noise

I usually back my car into my garage and parking spaces. I notice that sometimes when I am cutting the wheel counter clockwise while in Reverse, there is a scraping sound. The first time this happened, I was driving and missed my turn, so I pulled into someone's driveway to turn around and I heard this scraping noise. Well at the time, I thought that I had bottomed out and that the noise was the front end scraping the driveway. I looked under the car and there was no damage. Well, several times since, i have heard the same noise I realized that this happened only when in Reverse and cutting the wheel counter clockwise. Anyone else with a SS M6 have this happen? Anyone know what may be causing this? Thanks

sounds like something rubbing more then a tranny problem. Does the wheel have to be fully ccw?

Could be just the tire rubbing on the plastic wheel well. I had this problem on my denali when I put on my 24's. There was nothing you could see that was rubbing......the tire was barely catching on the edge of the plastic but it sounded like it was tearing the tire in two. I had the wife reverse slow into my driveway where it use to happen and sure enough I saw it. I used a sheetrock knife and trimmed the wheel well. No more problems after that.

Thanks for the info guys. I guess I will just keep an eye on it. I don't think the dealer will do anything at this time

ME TOO from time to time not often I have noo idea what it can be. I don't want to bring it back to the dealer because I am sure they won't have any idea either or it won't happen when I bring it in. Is There any further info on this??

Front wheel rub - will occasionally occur when the strut is under load and you are turning at the same time. I also get it but must be the 2 conditions. No biggie afaiac.

Same thing was happening to wife's torrent. Turns out a front brake line fitting was tightened at a slight angle and when turning the wheels almost to the locks the fitting rubbed on the dust shield. Easy fix. Just tell your dealer.

I think this was the answer I was looking for and it makes perfect sense. Thanks Hylton!

No. Ask your dealer to check the tranny mounts. They are gel filled and easily rupture.
