I'm thinking no...after seeing how well my childhood cartoons can be made into movies, I think Speed Racer would just induce suicidal thoughts (not to mention seizures from all the crazy lights).

That re-make looked horrible from the previews I saw...but I'd like to hear some real reviews.

Doesn't look good t me. And all those lights are going to drive my brain to erupt into seizures! hehehehe...No thanks. Maybe if it was done w/ more realistic stuff in more "real" times.

yall got good, points, and are giving me more and more reasons for me not to waste the money on it. i think that after hearing all this (esp TAG's reason) i think ill stay away too (plus ive seen more previews, and it looks kida bad compared to the old animated series)

i agree with everything you are all saying. but, there is one reason to see it and that is the Christina Ricci factor. i'm going to go see it and i will probably regret spending the $$$ to see it @ the movies and not waiting till dvd. but i will let you all know.

I just saw Speed racer.

I personally thought it was hilarious.

I didn't see any reason not to see it.

it was a fun movie. i don't know if i liked it as much as ironman, but it was a good movie. i would just suggest to go to an early show to save a little money. i spent $9.50 for a ticket i don't know if it was worth it or not, but it was good. plus, Christina Ricci looked great.

Hey, don't go just because of me! This just happens to be my opinion based off of previews on the tube.

Still, I would never spend $9.50 to go to the movies to see it. Depending on how much time I have on my hands, I might spend the $2.50 and rent it.

i just went to see iron man, and that was friggen sweet. but going by the preveiws of speed racer, it looks like it would be kinda confusing with all the fancy flashing lights and everything. to me, speed racer wasnt meant to be a live action film, it was made for animation. but going by the extra reveiws by other members that have seen it, ill definatley consider it. (ill more than likely wait till it comes out on DVD)
