Saleen and gm ?
Now I did notice one thread about the whole saleen teaming up with gm and all. However I didn't notice to many people's opinions on that. I am all for it and I honestly believe it will be a great combo. I personally can not wait to see what the concept for that model will look like. Now if svt does not come out with a new svt cobra then I guess I will have to just have a camaro ss and a saleen camaro ss side by side. So how do you personally feel about gm and saleen doing a combo ? Now I am not trying to start a ford vs chevy or a chevy vs ford war. My next question is would you buy the saleen camaro ss over the camaro ss if the saleen had more power and a more agressive look ? Looking forward to hear what you guys and gals have to say.

It's a great idea IMO - Saleen is already invovled with GM projects, I think a Saleen tuned Camaro is a natural fit.
While I've never been a fan of body kits used by Saleen and Roush as well as others, their tuned vehicles are very popular

I agree. I like the saleen and I really believe it is going to be a sucess. Nothing like a 600hp beast that is created my saleen and chevy. The only downside to these new cars that have the retro look to them is then interior.

I do hope if Saleen do get to play with the Camaro, they don't mess up the lines of the car...

Agreed. I think that would be my biggest concern too.

I wouldn't be concerned with that. If people don't like the looks, they won't buy it

It appears from the previous posts that I'm in the minority, but 'Saleen Camaro' just doesn't feel right. Don't take me wrong, Saleen is a very respectable company and I'm not taking a shot at them.
If Saleen does get involved with the Camaro, that's fine. There will be alot of companies wanting to get involved with the new Camaro. Personally, I'll look at some of the editions from places like Tom Henry, Berger, or possibly order one with GM performance upgrades if they're offered from the factory with a full warranty. 'Saleen Camaro' for me? No thank you. |

I am not too keen for Saleen Camaros or Mustangs.
I am a do-it-yourself hot rodder type, and I know that I can do just about everything Saleen does to their cars and at a fraction of the cost. To me it is financial. Plus I am not too into body kits and visual moddifications. I like to keep the outward appearance as stock as possible.

as long as they do more than just add a s/c and body kit and charge an extra 20,000 for it Im not too against the idea. i mean, c'mon. they made the Bumblebee Camaro...
(out of a GTO lol)

I'm not keen on a Saleen Camaro either...I have my concerns that they wouldn't really understand what a Camaro is. Tom Henry, Berger, or SLP has been working with GM, for how long? ;D
The above question doesn't apply to GMPP... EDIT: I don't know how much you want to put in this...but, Quote:

^Yup...that was a while ago (quote). But, if you recall, Saleen had said some very interesting things back then and it seemed some of those ideas were shot down. But, all of them had come true....except for Saleen building Camaros...and the only reason that hadn't happened yet is because the Camaro's haven't been built yet.
