Paddle shifters in a Manual?

So my coworker finally got his Z51 equipped Stingray on Saturday and said it has paddle shift levers behind the steering wheel, but he has a manual transmission.

I haven't seen this before where all the cars I've actually seen have been autos. So do any of the manual owners have "paddle shifters" behind the steering wheel or is he seeing something else and thinking it's paddle shifters?

I should be able to get a pic tomorrow, but it sounds like an oops.

The manuals do have paddles in the same location as the auto paddle shifters. However, for us manual owners the paddles are just the on-off switch for the Rev Match feature. Both paddles are labeled "Rev Match" and both operate as the switch for both on and off. You don't have to use one for on and the other for off. In no way can these paddles shift gears for you in a manual car - you have to row your own.

Both the Automatic and Manual use the same part (though the label for the paddles is different).

Automatic, paddles are for shifting. Manual, paddles are for turning rev match on/off.

Awesome, thanks guys.

I walked him through he order process because his dealership is a founding member of the short bus group. None of the sales staff knew what they were and he hasn't checked his manual, well, because he's a guy. lol.
