Just curious cause i always wondered this with an auto at a drag race.
At launch, were you holding the break then slam on the gas, were you in neutral than put it in drive, or did you just idle then slam on the gas?

^Probably standing on the brake w/ the accelerator slightly depressed to get the RPM's up. Either that, or w/ the use of a line lock, you can lock up your front brakes w/ the push of a button. The rear breaks disengage so you can do burn outs and all.
Great times you have...and consistent like MTron said. Nice!! |

Correct, Hold the brake and bring up the RPMs until the cars starts to move forward. Serious Drag Racers install Automatic Trannies with a Trans Brake or use line lock. But since this car is my Daily Driver these items are not an option. well maybe the Line locks, this would save my rear brakes doing burnouts. The next thing would be a new Torque Converter with a higher stall, this will allow me to bring the RPM's up to 3000 rpms insted of the current 1500 with the stock stall. Thanks for the kind comments.

Are line locks expensive or hard to install because like you said they sound like a smart way to save your brakes.

excellent numbers!
on a side note, how do you like the 4.10 gears with the 5spd auto? any drone? a friend of mine at work has been looking at adding some to his '06 GT and I just realized that you have them in your car.

I do get some NVH though the Aluminum Driveshaft. but if he is planning on doing any FI later stick with the stock gears but for NA 4.10s are fun. I am running into some traction issues with my car right now my Drag radials are brakeing loose in 1st and 2nd and barking 3rd, Yes it's an Auto... my street tires are useless, so as my power increases I may drop back to 3.90's or 3.73's
