We had a couple of the Camaro5 moderators out for our Supercar Shootout Camaro vs. Mustang at Gingerman. We flipped a coin and the winning Mod selected Pedders Camaro for his hot laps. The other Mod got his hot laps in the Mustang. John Buttermore of Nearbroook Motorsports was our professional driver for the event the driver for the Mods hot laps. From the smiles and discussions that followed I git the distinct feeling that both would like to get some track time.

KILLER74Z28 can you post a couple of pictures, you know the before and after shots showing the SEGs after the hot laps?

We are trying to gain interest but it seems no one in the Great Lakes area wants to learn how to drive there Camaro...

Ya, tell me about it. I had a dard time getting involvement. Some where all over it, but most are not.

RichJ & I were talking to some at a car show and one told us he already "KNEW" how to drive because he worked in an impound lot or as a valet, or something like that....

I can definitely plan for next year as well.

You might try putting a thread in the autocross /road racing area

absolutely....I am trying to figure out when to do mine as well at Mid-Ohio. We all had a blast last year.

I'm very interested in this. I'd say sign me up but there are no details. What are we getting into in terms of time and funds? Ballpark it so we can all plan ahead. That may be part of the issue with a lack of interest.

There was a lot going on last year when this started....Pete was SUPER busy....

I think there will be more interest this year. I am trying to figure out if I should do mine before or after this one.....

It depends what we want. An open track with EMTs, corner workers and tow vehicle is very easy to do and the cost modest. 50 cars / drivers at a cost of $175 will get us a full day. If we add instructors the cost goes up. To keep costs down we could bring in one of Pedders top drivers as an instructor.

Here is what is really cool abiout Gingerman. We can simply gather on a designated Test and Tune day. That means open track from 5 to dusk for $60 per driver. There is no instruction. It is pure track time Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

It all depends on what WE as a group want.

I lean more toward a budget event. I'm not interested in becoming a professional race car driver. I just want to enjoy the capabilities of my car on a track one or two times a year. If the group wants some basic to moderate training, fine.

I liked the track format we had at Mid-Ohio last September using lead/follow, no passing and after one or two laps, the lead car drops to the back.

Additionally, it might be nice to experience (even it was just as a passenger) the difference between a stock car and a Pedderized car around the track.

D... Anytime you want a ride in a prepped car, let me know. Though mine is not completely done over, it's got enough to notice a real difference!

If we are not looking to staff the event with a lot of instructors, we can keep the cost down. Pedderised Camaro is no problem.

If we did the track day with a limited number of instructors we could keep the cost down. $200 per driver / car and as few as 30 cars. I have to get with the track and confirm the numbers from last year but we should be in the ball park.
