Cool Hurst BFGoodrich Redline Series Turbo Camaro V6 Announced

Featured on CAMARO5 HOMEPAGE.

Hurst and BFGoodrich have revealed the Redline Series Hurst Turbo Camaro V6!

Highlights:
  • Remote mounted STS turbocharger
  • Approximately 360rwhp (50% gain in rwhp and torque over stock)
  • 30 percent better fuel economy than the stock Camaro SS with its 6.2 liter V8
  • First ever turbo vehicle wearing Hurst badge
  • Joint project with BFGoodrich Tires
  • Limited to 50 units
  • Price expcted from low-to-mid-$50,000 range

Hurst Performance Vehicles has revealed its Redline Series Hurst Camaro, the first ever turbocharged vehicle to wear a Hurst badge. Like the brand's modified Camaro SS, the turbo Camaro RS promises big horsepower and performance gains over more expensive, V-8 competitors.

The Redline Series was designed in collaboration with BFGoodrich Tires, who this year is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its Radial T/A lineup of tires. BFG developed a celebratory model called the Radial T/A Spec, which of course, wraps the five-spoke, 18-inch Hurst T1 wheels.

Furthering the unique look are the Air-Speed rear deck spoiler and some classically-inspired graphics. The RS's stance drops, while handling improves courtesy of Hurst/Detroit Speed coil-overs and sway bars. Inside, designers replaced the factory hides with custom Katzkin leather. A requisite red iodized Hard-Drive "Pistol Grip" shifter also takes the place of the factory piece.

Hurst says a "50 percent gain in rear wheel horsepower and additional torque" is had with its STS remote-mounted turbocharger placed on the Hurst Modified exhaust -- meaning you're looking at around 360 rear wheel horsepower (the stock 3.6-liter V-6 makes 312 horsepower). Most interestingly, the setup provides "30 percent better fuel economy than the stock Camaro SS with its 6.2 liter V8." At the time of posting, the exact torque figure was not available.

Only 50 examples will be made per year at a price ranging from the low to mid-$50,000 range, depending on base car and Hurst options. Hurst offers a Gauge Package that provides drivers with boost pressure and turbocharger temperature indicators.

If the Hurst/Camaro Performance Series 4 is any indication, the Redline Series should prove to be very fun and extremely fast.

Excellent... except for the stupid lettering (which drives me nuts) and the company logos on the outside. Take those off, and drop about 5K off the price and it might be a lot better off. But 50 of those with the Hurst name will sell easy.

Waaayyyy too expensive at $50k. Come on that is the rumored price for the Z28. Sorry but the upgrades they did to the car are not worth $20k-$30k extra....I mean come on the V6 starts at like $24k.

I agree they definitely should have done a brake upgrade as well, especially for that price.

Oh and 30% better fuel economy than the SS....ok thats great...how is it compared to the stock V6?

Me likey! BUT.....

$50k+ for exclusivity.

$31k for 1SS MN6 that average 360rwhp STOCK
$7.5k Magnacharger (installed) = 480-500 rwhp
Total = $38.5k and making the Hurst turbo V6 eat dust again

If I am correct, I think the economy is retained as much as the stock v6. I think stock v6s are 30% better than the SS right? I am doing the math in the head and that sounds right.

It looks terrible! Maybe it is just me but the colors are terrible; and at $50k - go line someone up against a wall and shoot them!

1. The STS kit is $6,700 installed
2. STS puts out 410hp/365tq to the wheels and this kit is 360hp? That's a bummer.
3. So if I do the math a base LS w/ STS kit is 30k?

So am I paying an additional 20k for some tacky looking rims (my personal opinion) and Hurst/BFGoodman badging?

Oh, and Blade, yes buddy your math is correct.

great idea, way overprice 50 k come on, its an LT model- no gauges, katzskin leather is a grand, they look like old mustang wheels- size is too small.

i like the addition hp to the v6 with better fuel economy, thats cool

I don't understand... it seems like performance-wise you can get a lot better for that price

m3, audi s4, base corvette, slightly used Z06, lexus is-F, hell even a camaro ss turbocharged

price doesn't seem to match performance imo, but there will be buyers no doubt. and i wish hurst all the best since they always make top-notch products

Call me confused after reading into the description more... but is my math just that bad? Isn't 50% of stock HP (312/2=156) added to the stock like 468hp?
