So you want some light to shine through not just around the panel but on the inside?

A lot more then that, but i will try to do a DYI on it, The problem is you need to get more light pipes, Next i was going to add the same lights in the door handle. (inside)

To do this mod you need a light pipe per door and 3 moor GM led light LED's, 1 to fix the top that GM did not do and two for the lower.

price 2 light pipes $40 6 GM LED's All most $120 at list price you can get them for less,You will need clips to hold it in place I now where to get some, But it takes some time and work to get it right, A lot of ppl my not want to do it.

As for how to do it in the dash lots of guys have don a DYI on that like this one.http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42184
