Vararam Air Intake?

Has anyone actually installed the Vararam air intake? How does it perform compared to other CAI? Can it be used in conjunction with a supercharger?

Who has it in stock? I need to order no later than Tuesday. Thanks.

Quite a few folks are running them... you might need to get a tune for this one.

You can get one from the Vararam website and they do not have a supercharger version yet.

There are a lot of threads about this one...

Make sure you read ALL the threads. It was very hot till it came out and got in the hands of the masses. While some run it without a problem, many people had driveability issues that they couldn't get rid of. Some couldn't even tune them out. It is definitely a cool intake and most everyone agreed that it ran very well at full throttle. It was the bucking that many couldn't live with. There hasn't been a serious VR thread in several months, if that says anything.

If you are in the market I would recommend waiting on the Jannetty results before committing. The market is full of really good intakes but there are a few that will stand out.

BTW - Vararam declined participation in the test along with a few other vendors. I would shy away from a company who refuses to compare their parts against another in a heads up test. Something to be said for integrity.

my vararam ran just fine before my cam. after i did the swap the car was bucking like crazy at 2k-under. my tuner tried and tried to tune out the buck but no luck so i switched to an AEM intake and the drivability is much better... and thats without retuning the car yet.

I have the "tune only" Vararam intake.

My car is tuned and in hot humid conditons I'm getting some bucking/surging at lower rpms.
It doesn't seem to be an issue in cooler air.

The Vararam intake will make similar rwhp numbers as many of the other intakes on the market.

On the dyno, I didn't see any real power increase running the Vararam (vs my LRM intake). On the street, I couldn't tell the difference between the two intakes.

I'm not saying the Vararam is a bad intake. Just don't believe the hype.

Thanks everyone for saving me a lot of grief and heartache. I will stay with a more traditional system. I had not seen the previous threads.

There are some people on this forum that need to eat crow over their claims about the Vararam intake.

As already stated there is a reason no Vararam threads have been made in months.

Didn’t you know, it takes years of unqualified beta testing to bring a product to fruition…
