LPM Shop Camaro build

Loud Pedal Motorsports, Inc. is proud to share with you the build we did on our shop car. We had a lot of fun doing it and we hope you will enjoy the pics of the process.

Here is our laundry list of go fast goodies:
  • Stroked and forged 427cid LS3
  • Fully polished 8 rib Procharger F1D
  • Custom Lunati blower cam
  • Custom Lonnie's fuel system with 80# injectors
  • Jet Hot coated Kooks 1 7/8" long tube headers
  • Cat-less mid pipes
  • Borla Atak mufflers
  • Pedders XA coil overs and urethane bushings
  • Pfadt racing sway bars, trailing arms, and Jet Hot coated strut tower brace
  • GForce carbon fiber drive shaft with billet yokes
  • GForce 300M race axles
  • Textralia Z-Grip clutch
  • Barton short throw shifter
  • VIS racing terminator carbon fiber hood
  • HRE 560Rs with Nitto NT05 rubber
  • AeroForce Interceptor gauges
  • 5% window tint
  • Various carbon fiber goodies
With about 2000 miles on the clock, we began the transformation from a stock 2SS to a fire breathing dragon.

Here she is fresh off the showroom floor

First things first... let's stiffen up that suspension, hang her down a little lower, and get the wheel hop, flex, and body roll under control. ( yeah, I know. I should have cleaned the wheel well before the pics )

Get her back on the ground and put on her new shoes.

Oooooh mama that looks sweet! Time to move on to the fun stuff...

Yank the motor

And off to the machine shop just to make sure everthing is dead on. No sense in taking chances to save a few bucks.

Fast forward 3 weeks...

The stroke on this crank required some clearancing of the oil pan baffle. Time to make some sparks!!

Ah. Much better.

Let's slip the cam into this baby. Despite the fact that the lobes are darn near as big as the journals, she went in without putting up a fight.

Drop in the lifters

Now let's get working on the heads. With a cam this big you need some serious valve hardware. We went with triple walled chrome molley push rods and some seriously overkill valve springs. Check them out compared to the stockers.

Having the right tools makes all the difference on this job.

Wow, what a difference.

Running 14 lbs of boost demands quality studs. They look damn cool.

Pop the heads on and toque 'em down.

And we have our long block.

Install cam sprocket and put the lids on it.

Bolt on the Z-Grip clutch

Then its up...

in...

... and away.

Put the top of the motor together and it's starting to shape up...

And now for the pulleys, damper, and the great big shiney hair dryer. Bling and baziiiiiiiing. :P

To be continued...

So Mike how much are you paying the boys in over time to get that monster ready for tomorrows cruise..

It's looking great! Keep it up guys. I can't wait to see her in action.

For anyone interested in some customer feedback on these guys, just talk to anyone from AZ All gens. We have plenty of guys that use LPM for a lot of things.

This is a class act shop. They treat all their clients with a lot of respect and give them the first class treatment if you visit.

We will be definately be posting up some video soon. I'm spending the weekend breaking her in nicely. It's such a tough job.

The F1D is a more linear blower in comparison to the F1A. This car is going to spend a lot of time on the street, so low end torque was important to us and this baby delivers. Car runs amazing and is remarkably well behaved for running a cam that big.

The F1D is one bad ass blower. I had it on my 427 LSX prior to my F1R and had it on my old stock bottom end LS3 build. With the LS3 build it put down 774 to the wheels.

How big is the cam? I know cubes will tame a big cam a bit, but those "looked" like some pretty serious lobes.
