Why is it....?

why is it that most of us 5th gen camaro owners would choose the challenger as our second car? (including me) lol. or if it wasn't for the camaro most of us would be driving challengers.. why is it that most of us respect and love the challenger more than we ever would pick a mustang? lol.

I know my reason is the Mustang is so small in comparison. The Camaro and Challenger look more aggressive and has a wider stance.

The Challenger is unique! There is nothing that looks like it! The Mustang on the other hand, looks like a mustang. Everyone knows someone that has one...

Thought I was the only one who thought that about the Challenger. I think it has to do with the style and the retro look. The Mustang just looks boxey and not sexy at all. Very please Chevy decided to produce the Camaro again, don't see myself as a Dodge Girl

It would probably be a tough choice for me. The Challenger looks better on the outside than the Mustang, but the 'one style fits all' interior is not for me at all.

Price-wise, the Mustang wins pretty much hands down over the Challenger.
I don't actually mind how the new Mustang looks personally, but there are far too many of them around.

I liked that yesterday at TMS, we managed to get over 70 Fifth Gen Camaro's together, but day to day, you only see one or two.

Now try doing that with a Mustang!

Very glad I was able to get the Camaro! Let's just hope I can keep it, being as my wife was laid off on Thursday, while 6 months pregnant. Not happy.

I just down right hate mustang. They are a worthless car if you ask me. Unless i was a 16 year old girl or a middle aged mom. Ive drove them and they do not compare to the camaro.

Not I.

If I were forced to choose a 2nd, I would be in a new 5.0 GT. That motor is impressive.

Dodge.....meh

I wouldn't want a car that everyone has and have had for the last 20 years (that hasn't changed).

Was a toss up with all three for me, I test drove all. For the Mustang the new style changes didn't appeal to me at all so it wasn't really considered but had to give it's fair shake.

Challenger just looked pretty sweet too, and it was a close second. I suppose main reason is the Camaro & Challenger look like more 'muscle car' and Mustang was starting to infringe upon the 'ricer' types.

I wasn't able to drive a Camaro last May, but did have the opportunity to drive a Challenger. Nice ride - big expansive interior. Mustang was not an option for me (daughter had a GT, rode like a tank and it's a tiny car). Plus are a dime a dozen and they are just everywhere, been produced since 1964.

I love the pure beauty of the Camaro - old and new all in one. Plus being absent from the market since 2002 made the Camaro a higher demand vehicle and Transformers, The Movie didn't hurt either.

Challenger was right up there as a close second for me - but comparing the SS/RS vs STR-8, it was the price ($13k+ diff) that helped make my decision for me. I'd take a Challenger hands down (brother has an orange SRT-8).

I guess uniqueness was key for me, and boy is the Camaro unique and a hell of a headturner still more than a year. Thank you GM. Lori

My favorite car is the 1970 'cuda. I love the retro look of the new challenger too, and it's the sister car of the cuda. My only nitpick about the challenger is that it uses the 300's frame.

Other than that, I would rather have the challenger than a mustang because of its more aggressive stance. If ford went back to a more retro '69-70 mustang look, I think my opinion might change.

Before I disagree, let me start by saying I've never owned a Mustang....hell, I've never owned anything other than GM vehicles (2 Olds, 2 Pontiacs & 9 Chevrolets).

So sorry to say, but if there was no Camaro or Corvette I'd be driving a Mustang before the Challenger. In stock form, the Challenger is slower than the '11 5.0, the exterior just doesn't "do it" for me, and the truck inspired dash strikes me as boring.

But hey, that's just my opinion, so no need for you Challenger folks to argue or try to convince me otherwise

I like the outside styling of the Challenger, but I agree with you about the interior. It's too plain for a muscle car. When I test drove it, it felt like I was still in my Charger. So that (and the weak V6) killed its chances for me.

One has to admit that Chrysler deffinitely nailed the retro-look with the Challanger's exterior. It is a nice looking car. Like the 5th Gen, everyone you see is pleasing to look at.
