How many plan to pay cash for Camaro?

Hey guys, let's take a poll on how many plan to pay cash for our new Camaro!
I for one am planning to pay in cold hard cash.I don't want to take any chances if the economy takes a sh$$.Nobody is going to get my car if we end up in a depression.

Anything paid for over 10K in cash gets reported to the COPs... Well, that's what I heard.

It's always best to pay in cash if you can; the more you put down the less interest you have to pay. Of course, I don't know many people (myself included) who can plunk down 35k.

I am leasing so I am only putting like 2k down. I don't really like keeping cars for too long because the new model comes out and then I want that one. Keep a car for about 5 years max.

I have worked since I was 16 with a goal to get out of debt and finally got clear at the age of 41 and I am almost 50 now. I have been putting back 1,500.00 a month since I heard about the Camaro. I ordered a 2SS/RS back in October and I should have enough to pay cash (cashiers check) for the car when it arrives in 2009.

$15K down. Should keep the monthly payments at a reasonable level.

If I was in the market for a new Camaro, I'd pay the cash. I did so when I bought my Z28 new. Just wrote a check to the dealer, they handed over the keys and it was all mine.

I hope to get as much as possible for my '07 G35S (either privately sold or traded in) and then do everything I can to pay for the remainder with cash.

Very close. Actually, it get reported to the Internal Revenue Service, who may in turn share that info under certain conditions with other governmental agencies. It can be cash or a "cash equivalent" such as money orders, cashiers' check, travelers check, or any other instrument that can be exchanged for cash. Your friendly Uncle likes to know who's throwing large sums of cash around, where it came from and if the IRS has gotten their cut. Their main "target" is drug dealer's but they like to know about anyone who does it.

It all depend son what kind of rate I can get. I have enough cash, but if I can get a rate at less than 1% I might go ahead and just put half down.

Is that because he throws around large sums of cash or a "cash equivalent" or because he's a drug dealers?

At the very least I'll be putting $10,000 down. Probably more like $15 or $16,000.
