2011/2012 Camaro Z28 Sheds Some Camo - Shows Grille, Front Lip Spoiler and Cowl Shape
Reported on HOMEPAGE.
The 2011/2012 Camaro Z28 prototypes have lost some of its front end camouflage, exposing the grille, new lower front fascia (which now features a front lip spoiler which extends out very aggressively). The shape and size of the aggressive hood cowl (with scoops) can also be made out in the photos. To our eyes, it looks like there may be a scoop at the front of the cowl and 4 inlet scoops in the middle of the cowl. The silver hood pins could be there just for testing purposes. A set of 20-inch wheels, wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 tires appear on the Z28 prototype and the brakes are those from the Cadillac CTS-V. While the photos don't show it, the photographer also noticed a few pieces of body-colored tape across the trunk lid on this prototype, which may be covering the fastener points for a rear spoiler. It appears that this particular Camaro is similar to the Camaros spotted recently by one of our members in the San Diego area.

I like the lower grill and that front spoiler is pretty aggressive! Blacked-out center and body color outer? I think so!

It looks like some sort of ram air induction hood because if you look at the second pic you can see either a line of a crease at the of the "bump". It could just be becasue of how messed up the cover is.

I think the 4 scoops is an optical illusion. It's seems funny that they are covering up all the emblems. This one doesn't even have a CAMARO emblem on the side ????
And I think your right about the blacked out center and colored outer, very nice! |

Judging by the hood cover, the induction should be fully functional!!! I see four type vents in the hood cover maybe for exhausting hot air from the engine compartment. Starting to take it's final form. My money is on T2 Bee. Now, just build the bloody car!!! Oh yeah.......Dear Santa, please put in a LS7 motor and if there are none left a LS3 Hot Cam.

They are certainly taking air flow to engine compartment very seriously for cooling purpose, which is a great thing.
This is going to be a nice car... |

Same ugly grill as the regular Camaro.
Meh. Was hoping for maybe a cross-hair type style. Something different. |

Not sure how it would look though![]() ![]() There looks like a bar/beam that goes back from those 4 holes, so it might not be anything at all. What would that beam/bar be for?It would be nice to see an actual tire size. Those things are wide

Lower lip on the front looks like it is a pre-production version of the GFX that has already been released.

I would be very surprised if they kept the current stock grill. I am hoping for the heritage grill but I would bet that it will not be the current grill.

![]() The fish are taking the bait.... While some items MAY make it to a production vehicle, or none at all, don't let what you see here formulate a theory that this is what GM will unleash. Wait until the production model is unveiled. THAT is what you shall get. This car is a testing platform to see what works, and what doesn't. And which car are they even testing for specifically? Only GM knows at this point. Anything else is pure speculation. While fun to guess, I'm not getting my hopes up on anything.

Ssooch, I luv ya guy, but let us guys and girls that want a sun roof be able to check it off on the order sheet. After cruising the PCH in a 2011 with a sunroof, I was hooked. A great option for those that want it.

Four "Scoops"
I was also thinking the 4 "scoops" were heat extractors as well, but unless it's an optical illusion, they look kind of close to what looks to be a "scoop" at the front of the hood.
I'm no engineer, but I would think that extractors would be further back...or am I wrong? I'd really like to see a close-up of the mufflers to confirm that it'll have the dual mode exhaust.
