I paid like $40 to get my fob and key cut to my vin at my dealer here, your dealer is trying to rip you off.

I just ordered one 56 for the key an extra 20 since I didn't have the code. So 76 total, if you have the code from the original paperwork it should be 56...

Must be more expensive in Canada. Brought my vehicle registration to my dealer and get one cut for $50+. You can program it yourself, there are instructions on this board. It took 15 secs to program....

I just called the dealer today and am going to get one tomorrow. They said it would cost no more than $59.00 cut and programmed. I live in Deep South Texas. The dealereship is called Gillman Chevrolet in San Benito Tx. Call them if you need it.
