CTF Camaro Convertible in Ga.

I saw a cyber grey vert with black top while out and about in Savannah, Ga. today. CTF vert from Michigan driven by a very nice and hospitable gm employee and wife along with dog going back home from holiday (Christmas) vacation. Here's my pics:

It is one nice looking convertible in my opinion, it was my first time seeing one in person. I talked briefly with the driver but I did not want to hold them up too long from getting back on their trip home. He did say that he was part of an earlier convoy of verts that went thru Columbia, s.c. a few weeks ago and they were stopped by a lot of camaro enthusiasts along the way and that the 1st gen camaro was one of his favorites especially the '69. I thanked him for his work on helping to make the camaro one the best cars on the road today and wished him and his family a safe trip home.

Thanks, I can't believe how well the pics came out using my droid phone. It was a little windy and I did not want to impose on them with seeing the top operation but the vert looks great even with a little road grim.

I like the vert, don't know about hauling a hound around in it though.

The Camaro's a fast car agreed, but with a greyhound in your back seat, that thing must put down some numbers!

what is the weight difference with the vert option compared to the coupe? is there any? How greatly will this affect the horsepower? These are my questions.

I-95 and hwy 21 which is the first exit from the s.c./ga. border into savannah. This is the exit were a lot of the nascar haulers use to refuel to and from daytona races/florida races during the season.

The weight difference is about 200 lbs. more for the convertible. The extra weight is in the stiffening in areas of the body, chassis bracing under the hood and underneath, and the top mechanism. There are also rear window motors and regulators, and more weight in other misc. areas like the wiring harnesses. The drivetrains between the 'Vert and Coupe are the same. I saw a thread here on C5 regarding the 1/4 mile time of the 'Vert being about 0.2 sec. slower than the Coupe (can't remember if it was an actual test time or an estimate). I'll post the tread link when I find it.

I hope the trim piece around the top that blends in with the fenders is going to be the exact same color as the body unlike the bumper facias. Hopefully they've got that worked out or it will stick out even more than the bumpers!

Great pics, cyber grey metallic really shows great under the bright lights of the show hall and the model is easy on the eyes also.
