New Option for NON BA guys avaliable at ******** :D
It seems to me that this is a much better option than splicing into the rear speaker wires. Also I would assume the sound quality would be better witht the more precise signal you nwould get through this. Just ordered it the other day . They added this item to their site a week ago:
http://********.com/Car-Audio-Produc...io-AAGM44.html The AA-GM44 “T-harness” plugs into the vehicle’s wiring behind the factory radio. It provides a 4-channel adjustable audio output via two sets of stereo RCA connectors. This allows simple and quick audio connection to an aftermarket amplifier, without effecting the performance of the stock speakers. Expand the factory sound sytem without replacing the factory radio, by adding an amplifier. Simplify the installation by using the AA-GM44 to provide the audio signal without having to cut the factory wiring. Compatible Vehicles Include: 2010 & Up Chevy Camaro (Boston and non Boston) Chevy Equinox GMC Terrain Buick LaCrosse Cadillac SRX ENJOY

Same thing as above but on sale... I have used PAC audio adapters in my last 4 vehicles for sub integration with stock headunits and they work flawlessly. |

So...why not just use ********'s harness that connects at the amp in the trunk? Makes for an easier/cleaner install because the battery is in the trunk and there is less wire to run.
One issue though, I keep asking Steve if the outputs on his harness are high or low level. I haven't got an answer yet. At least with the PAC unit you know they are low-level.

If this was only available months ago when I spliced my rear speakers and connected them to a PAC SNI adaptor. What are the pros exactly of doing it this way instead of splicing? Also how do I remove the head unit to put that in if I were to do it?

the benefits are -
you dont have to cut your factory wiring harness, you can adjust the output of the RCA's so you can raise your input voltage before clipping so you can lower your amp gains and keep the noise floor low (better sound) you can remove the unit if you decide to sell the car and return it to factory cleaner signal path to your amp - grabbing signal in the trunk means grabbing and converting a signal that has picked up god-knows-what noises as it has snaked its way through to the rear speakers

This adapter can also be used as a way to add a 4 channel amp to amplify all of the factory speakers.

what does the factory head unit output per channel?
the factory speakers are 20W. it was my understanding that amping the speakers would only mean you'll blow them that much quicker |

What do you have to help with bass attenuation when adding a sub and amp to a no-ba stereo?
