Sweet info.
SGM is left off 2010. So looks like they made more SGM than ABM.

This is neat, it's looking like my 2011 2SS M6 IOM is relatively rare!

On Spastic Squirrel, last time I looked, mine was one of 205 built like mine, and one of only 13 in Texas. That works for me!

And I wish I could 'claim' mine on there... every time I try, it just hangs up and doesn't do anything.

I would be interested in knowing manual vs auto for V8 and the same for V6. I'm guessing that there is a relatively small number of manual V6's and maybe split 50/50 on the V8's. Not that it really matters, but it would be an interesting tid bit.

And, I also was originally interested in seeing how "rare" my combination was, then.......I started thinking. If everyone got to order any color/combination that they wanted, and mine is the rarest, doesn't that mean that the fewest people like it? "If" it becomes a classic, 40 years from now I may want to sell a "rare" combo but most people aren't holding them that long. More likely, 5-10 years from now when you do sell, people will dislike your choice in color/combo......which will hurt your resale. Just a thought, sorry for the ramble.

Sweet to know mines a rare bird. I narrowed it down to 1 of 83 built but do not know how many of the 83 ugraded to the premium audio and with factory black stripes. Gotta be less than 50 total like mine.

Remember for 2010 most of the cars sold were to enthusiasts (SS cars) who have been lining up since 2006 to get a new Camaro vs. 2011 more for the general public.

Just like anticipated. Trending away from V8 stick and towards V6 auto.

The enthusiasts are spent!

Also notice the drop off in IOM and the increase of the 2 reds, esp. RJT

Florida in the house #3 which should be the place to hold C5FIII
also it looks like alot more v8's sold in 10 than 11. I am guessing gas prices will shut down even more v8's in the future as people who plan to buy these as daily commuting cars realize that the 6 gives you as much fun as you really need and still be affordable to drive.

The beige interior (I call it "Black & Tan") seems to be fairly rare according to those charts.

When I was out to order that's what the dealers were saying too, that they weren't ordering lot inventory with it and hadn't seen many come in for customers. I couldn't find any dealers in Indianapolis that even had one on the lot. But I ordered it anyway to compliment the RJT ext.

I'm glad I went with it, I love it.

I am one of the rare SW V8's with a MT and beige interior! Still won't make my car worth anymore in the long run, but at least it's unique! Beige really doesn't get a fair shake in this car. Kind of like ABM. If more people saw it, more would order it. The seating surfaces look as close to white as you'd want to get and be sensible about dirt as well. Everything else is black, which makes the two tone appearance even better.

I guess that mines my car is pretty rare. Its a 2011 RJT 1SS, Manual with biege interior.

Oh, and I bought it in Nevada.

By the way Synergy green is missing from the 2010 Exterior chart.

I still can't decide between SW / CGM / VR, but for sure its going to be with the beige interior. I guess its a pretty rare combo?

Anyway on a global scale heres an interesting read from todays paper

Silver and black are in tight competition for the title of "world's most popular car colour," according to DuPont, a leader in automotive coatings.

DuPont recently issued its 58th Global Automotive Colour Popularity Report, which includes automotive colour popularity information and regional trends from 11 leading automotive regions of the world. Each year, the DuPont report reflects data from established and emerging growth markets in the automotive industry.

Only two percentage points separate silver from black as the leading vehicle colour globally, and black's popularity in key automotive markets outside of North America is substantial, says the report. White and grey are tied for third place, with grey's popularity increasing three percentage points from 2009's survey. Red, the only non-neutral colour in the top five, is increasing in popularity, taking the fifth spot on the global colour popularity rankings.

The top 10 global vehicle colours are:

- 1. Silver, 26%

- 2. Black/black effect, 24%

- 3. White/white pearl and grey, 16% (tie)

- 5. Red, 6%

- 6. Blue, 5%

- 7. Brown/beige, 3%

- 8. Green, 2%

- 9. Yellow/gold, 1%

- 10. Others , less than 1%

Just three years ago, silver led all regions in colour popularity, says DuPont. With the shift toward more globalization in the automotive industry, regional preferences are influencing the global trend. With trends of silver, black and white -- all neutrals -- vying for the top three spots among most regions, grey has increased in popularity and is gaining in interest among consumers in many regions. Both silver and black/black effect saw a 1% gain in global popularity in the 2010 report, with white remaining flat over last year. Grey increased in popularity by three percentage points. While regional preferences remain for red and blue, both have fallen three percentage points this year over last. DuPont analysts continue to see a trend toward brown and beige increasing in popularity as well.

Wow! What a change from this time last year when IOM was the number 3 or 4 most popular color. Thank goodness it is becoming rarer. Although I think that it is still probably the 2nd or 3rd most popular in my area.

Yea, we all knew that was a matter of time. Until the 6th gen hits, we will continue to see a slight decline in the SS..specifically the 2SS. Curious how this will influence the "limited edition" Camaros down the road...

I still to this day was so shocked how IBM didn't do better in 2010. I love the color..looks black at night, and a deep blue during the day.

unfortunately, what you say is essentially correct!..if they didn't like the color when it was new, chances are very good ,they won't like it years later!..just sayin!
