My v6 camaro idles high when i start it for about 15 seconds, than returns to under 1k. Is this normal its been like this for a while but when it was brand new i dont exactlly remember if it was like this?

ANY HELP THANX?

Since you live in a desert I'm going to go with..... It's 120+ outside and your car likes the fan on "high" for a bit to get that coolant temp down?

It's fine, every car does it; Unless the idle is over 2k, then you have a problem.

mine does the same, just when its cold, the first morning starts, after that its fine, so if your starting it up first thing in the am? then its normal.

ok.

how bout anyone having a clicking noise that goes up with the rpm's sounds like maybe a belt or something under the engine.

In park its a low click click click very lightly than when i give it gas it speeds up ???? doesent sound like an engine knock or anything real serious , but just an annoyance i have to turn radio down and listen with windows down in quiet environment to hear it.

any thoughts ??

It's likely that you're just hearing the ticking from the high pressure fuel pump since we have a direct injection fuel system. This is normal and nothing to worry about at all.

lol . yeah or maybe the compresser housing bracket o-ring got loose from the high rpm's.
