After a 3-year wait, we finally drive the new Chevrolet Camaro SS. We found out that not only is it a darn good car, it's also a bargain.
They like it Mikey

In lower speed corners, you can use the massive amounts of V-8 power to steer the Camaro SS with the throttle. Which is just plain good fun! The 6-speed manual, although not the quickest shifting ever, is easy to use and has positive gates, while pedals are placed close enough for reasonable heel-and-toeing. The front seats are clearly made for wide Americans, but despite this they offer good lateral support and comfort aplenty. Limited rear head room defines the Camaro as a 2 + 2.
Some good and some bad here. With the shifter, I'm glad to hear the gates are clear and positive. That's more important to me than pure shifting speed, so I'm happy with that. Also interesting that they think heel-toeing is possible. Edmunds said it wasn't with the poor pedal placement. Unfortunately, it sounds like my fears of wide, flat seats designed to act as comfy chairs for larger guys cruising rather than grippy, supportive seats for people driving this like a performance car was realized. Man this day just keeps getting worse. Hello Mazda.

Talking R&T magazine...

Usually when Road and Track tests a car they put specs and stats of the car.
In the magazine it said they best launched the 2010 Camaro SS at 3000 RPM (no launch control) and got a 0-60 of 4.6 sec.
